Use clean boiling water, held in a clean tea cup. Use a clean piece of plain-colored silk cloth to wash the affected area while it is still hot. After washing, if the water becomes turbid, change the water and wash again. Continue until the water runs clear without any impurities. Repeat this process several times until healed. No medicinal herbs are added to the water; hence it is called "Natural Water" (Tianran Shui).
An ancient song states: "No need for knives or needles, rely entirely on this prescription."
Zhenzhu Pearl (1.5 qian) Manao Agate (1.5 qian) Hupo Amber (1.5 qian) Shanhu Coral (1.5 qian; the above four ingredients must be boiled with tofu, then ground) Pengsha Borax (0.5 qian) Xiongdan Bear Bile (held in bamboo sheath, dried until crisp, ground into powder, 0.5 qian) Longnao Dragon Brain [Borneolum Syntheticum] (0.4 qian) Shexiang Musk (0.25 qian) Gualoupi Trichosanthis Pericarpium (0.75 qian) Zhusha Cinnabaris (finely ground and processed by water levigation, 0.75 qian) Huanglian Rhizoma Coptidis (remove roots and rhizome nodes, grind finely, 0.5 qian) Ming Ruxiang Resina Draconis (roasted dry over bamboo leaves, 0.5 qian) Moyao Resina Commiphorae (roasted dry over bamboo leaves, 0.5 qian) Luganshi Calamina (processed according to method, 1.5 liang)
All the above medicines should be individually ground into fine powders, sifted through a fine mesh sieve, weighed accurately according to the dosage, mixed together, and pounded ten thousand times. Then, pass through cotton paper again, and store in porcelain jars for use. Its efficacy is miraculous.
Method for preparing Luganshi Calamina: Select half a jin of premium Calamina. Place it in a large purple clay pot used in silver workshops. Seal the mouth of the pot with purple clay mud. Choose a clean room, place three large iron nails on the ground, and stabilize the pot on them. Cover the surroundings with chestnut charcoal. Apply fire from top and bottom, continuing from morning to evening. Grind finely, sift through a powder sieve, and process by water levigation. Still wait for the herbal decoction to treat it. Then use:

Add two large bowls of water, decoct until one bowl remains. Remove the dregs. Add seven sheets each of Jinbo Gold Foil and Yinbo Silver Foil. Decoct further until one cup remains. Take two liang of the prepared Luganshi Calamina, place it in a clean copper vessel, mix evenly, and steam-dry over a water bath. Remove it. Add seven more sheets each of gold and silver foil. On a clear day, expose it to the night dew overnight, and sun-dry it during the day to absorb the essence of the sun and moon. When combined with the medicine, it yields miraculous results. The criterion for identifying good Calamina is: shape like sheep brain, white as snow, loose as flowers. If it is heavy, dark, and dull, it is unsuitable for use; using it will be ineffective and potentially harmful. Be cautious.
Another prescription: Use two qian of prepared Luganshi Calamina, 0.5 qian each of Zhusha Cinnabaris and Pengsha Borax. Grind finely and apply frequently to the eyes. It is also effective.
