[Prescription Verse] The toxic pathogen of Xuan Yong (Hanging Abscess) arises at the Huiyin acupoint. Initially, it is like a lotus seed, gradually enlarging to resemble a peach. This condition results from the deficiency of the Three Yin meridians and the stagnation of damp-heat. If ulcerated for a long time, it becomes a fistula, evolving into Chuang Lao (Chronic Ulcerous Consumption).
[Annotation] This syndrome is also known as Qima Yong (Horse-Riding Abscess). It occurs in the perineum, located behind the anterior orifice and before the posterior orifice, at the Pingyi acupoint, which is the Huiyin acupoint. Huiyin is the first acupoint of the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel). Initially, it is the size of a lotus seed, slightly itchy and mostly painful. Over time, it becomes red, swollen, hot, and painful, resembling a plum or peach. It is caused by the deficiency of the Three Yin meridians combined with Qi stagnation due to worry and thought, leading to the accumulation and stagnation of damp-heat. The color turns red, pus forms, and it is about to ulcerate. If it ruptures deeply and remains unhealed for a long time, it forms a fistula, exhausting Qi and Blood, and transforming into Chuang Lao (Chronic Ulcerous Consumption). In the early stage, if the patient's Zheng Qi (Upright Qi) is strong and pus has not yet formed, but urination is difficult and obstructed, use Jiu Long Dan (Nine Dragons Powder) to purge the root of the disease. If the constitution is slightly deficient, use Xian Fang Huo Ming Yin (Immortal Life-Rescuing Decoction) to drain damp-heat; treating according to this method can resolve three or four out of ten cases. If after more than ten days the swelling has matured and cannot be resolved internally, take Tuo Li Xiao Du San (Support the Interior and Eliminate Toxin Powder) or Tuo Li Tou Nong Tang (Support the Interior and Drain Pus Decoction) to facilitate spontaneous rupture. If it does not rupture spontaneously, and the swelling is high, shiny, and distendingly painful, incise it with a horizontal needle. Once foul pus drains out and the swelling subsides completely, it is a favorable prognosis. Take Liu Wei Di Huang Wan (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill) in the morning and Shi Quan Da Bu Tang (Comprehensive Great Tonifying Decoction) at noon to warm-tonify and nourish Yin. For those who have consumed excessive rich and greasy foods and have a robust constitution, take Long Dan Xie Gan Tang (Gentian Liver-Draining Decoction) in the early stage, and Zi Yang Ba Wu Tang (Nourish Yang Eight-Ingredient Decoction) after ulceration. For those who have overindulged in sexual activity and are emaciated, take Ba Zhen Tang (Eight-Treasure Decoction) in the early stage, and Shi Quan Da Bu Tang (Comprehensive Great Tonifying Decoction) after ulceration. For those with Spleen deficiency and poor appetite, take Liu Jun Zi Tang (Six-Gentleman Decoction). For those who have developed a fistula over a long period, dissolve Guo Lao Gao (National Elder Ointment) in decoction and swallow Hu Po La Fan Wan (Amber Wax-Alum Pill). External treatment methods refer to the Chapter on Ulcerative Sores and Carbuncles. One must abstain from sexual intercourse, anger, and stimulating foods such as fish and seafood, and manage care prudently.

Take nine pills each time, swallowed with a cup of warm wine on an empty stomach. After four or five bowel movements, one may consume thin congee. For severe swelling, administer another dose every other day until it resolves spontaneously.
