Translation:
Clause: When corneal opacity (Yi, 翳) is caused by trauma or puncture, puncture marks remain. Over time, blood stasis (Xue Yu, 血瘀) forms, leading to the generation of visual obstruction (Zhang Yi, 障翳). If red vessels, astringent pain, and other symptoms appear, Jingxiao San (Classic Efficacy Powder) should be used, which consists of Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Dang Gui Wei (Angelicae Sinensis Radix Cauda), Chi Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Gan Cao Shao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma with tip), and Xi Jiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu).
Formula: Jingxiao San (Classic Efficacy Powder)
Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) 2 qian, Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) 1 qian, Dang Gui Wei (Angelicae Sinensis Radix Cauda) 1 qian, Chi Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra) 1 qian, Gan Cao Shao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma with tip) 5 fen, Xi Jiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu) 1 qian.
Grind the above herbs into coarse powder. Add two zhan of water, decoct until one zhan remains. Strain and take warm after meals.
Annotation [1]: The syndrome of corneal opacity due to trauma involves wounds caused by bamboo or wooden splinters. Due to incomplete treatment, scars remain for a long time, causing blood stasis (Xue Yu, 血瘀) to accumulate, thereby generating membrane-like opacities (Yi Mo, 翳膜). Symptoms include red vessels throughout the eye, astringent pain, and tearing. Jingxiao San (Classic Efficacy Powder) is suitable to clear heat and dissipate stasis.
%
Clause: Sudden onset of redness and corneal opacity indicates involvement of the Heart and Liver meridians. Wind-heat (Feng Re, 风热) obstructs upward, causing unbearable pain. The eyes are red, swollen, painful, tearful, photophobic, and itchy. The most effective treatment is to use the □ wash method to release bad blood.
At the initial stage, first use Lugen Yinzi (Reed Root Decoction), containing Hei Shen (Black Ginseng), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Mang Xiao (Natrii Sulfas), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), and Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix).
To remove opacity, Zhen Gan Wan (Liver-Calming Pill) is recommended, containing Gao Ben (Ligustici Rhizoma et Radix), Shi Jue Ming (Haliotidis Concha), Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Fu Ling (Poria), Che Qian Zi (Plantaginis Semen), Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Fructus), and Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix).
Formula: Lugen Yinzi (Reed Root Decoction)
Lu Gen (Phragmitis Rhizoma) 1 qian, Hei Shen (Black Ginseng) 1.5 qian, Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) 1 qian, Mang Xiao (Natrii Sulfas) 1 qian, Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) 1 qian, Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix) 1.5 qian, Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) 1 qian.
Grind the above herbs into coarse powder. Add two zhan of water, decoct until one qian remains (Note: Original text says "one qian", likely a typo for "one zhan"). Strain and take warm after meals.
Zhen Gan Wan (Liver-Calming Pill) Formula
Gao Ben (Ligustici Rhizoma et Radix) 1.5 liang, Shi Jue Ming (Haliotidis Concha, calcined) 2 liang, Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) 3 qian, Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma, stir-fried), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Fu Ling (Poria), Che Qian Zi (Plantaginis Semen) each 1 liang, Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Fructus) 3 qian, Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix) 1 liang.
Grind the above herbs into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 3 qian on an empty stomach, washed down with tea infusion.
Annotation [1]: Sudden redness and corneal opacity: The symptoms include red, swollen, opaque eyes with unbearable itching and pain, frequent hot tears, and photophobia. This is caused by wind-heat (Feng Re, 风热) in the Heart and Liver meridians obstructing upwards and attacking the eyes.
[2] It is appropriate to use the □ wash method to release bad blood, then take Lugen Yinzi (Reed Root Decoction) to clear internal heat, followed by Zhen Gan Wan (Liver-Calming Pill). The character "□" is pronounced "Lian". "□" refers to either slightly pricking with a needle tip or slightly scraping with a rush pith.
