[Shuilu Erxian Dan (Water and Land Two Immortals Pill)]
Treats spermatorrhea and white turbidity (The orifices for the discharge of essence and turbid fluids are different: Bian Zhuo [turbid urine] is equivalent to Gao Lin [paste-like strangury], caused by Fire of the Liver and Gallbladder; Jing Zhuo [turbid essence] refers to the slipping out of essence). This formula acts on the Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian. Jin Ying Zi (Cherokee Rose Fruit) and Qian Shi (Euryale Seed), with their sweet flavor, benefit essence; their moistening property nourishes Yin; their astringent property stops leakage. One grows in water, one grows on land, hence the name Shuilu Erxian Dan.
[Sangpiaoxiao San (Mantis Egg-case Powder)]
Treats involuntary seminal emission due to essence slipping (In cases of essence slipping, Fire flares upward while Water sinks downward, resulting in a lack of communication between the Heart and Kidney).
Shayuan Jili (Astragalus Complanatus Seed, stir-fried), Qian Shi (Euryale Seed, steamed), Lian Xu (Lotus Stamen, 2 liang each), Long Gu (Fossilized Bones, processed with butter), Mu Li (Oyster Shell, boiled in salt water for one day and one night, powdered, 1 liang).
This formula acts on the Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian. Jili tonifies the Kidney and benefits essence; Lotus seeds facilitate communication between the Heart and Kidney; Mu Li clears heat and supplements Water; Qian Shi secures the Kidney and tonifies the Spleen. Combined with Lian Xu and Long Gu, all are astringent substances that consolidate essence and secure Qi, used to stop slipping and leakage (There are five major methods for treating spermatorrhea: For floating and hyperactive Heart Spirit, use substances like Chen Sha [Cinnabar], Ci Shi [Magnetite], Long Gu [Fossilized Bones]; ... Nourish Yin and descend Fire ... Zhufen Wan [Pearl Powder Pill]).
Grind into fine powder, (administration method omitted), possesses a diuretic nature.
[Chugen Baipi San (Bark of Chinese Toona Powder)]
Treats lower bleeding due to Zang Du [visceral toxin] complicated by Heat, and chronic dysentery with persistent pus and blood (Complicated by Heat refers to harboring exogenous Heat as well as internal Heat from drinking alcohol and eating fried foods. Persistent chronic dysentery is due to Qi deficiency).
Ren Shen (Ginseng Root), Chugen Baipi (White Bark of Chinese Toona Root, preferably from the eastern direction, remove coarse bark, process with vinegar), equal parts. Grind into fine powder. Take with rice drink or wine.
This formula acts on the Hand and Foot Yangming Meridians. The sweetness of Ren Shen tonifies Qi; the bitterness of Chugen Baipi dries Dampness; its cold nature resolves Heat; its astringency consolidates and stops leakage, thereby tonifying the deficient and lifting the sunken. It is also considered a "Jie Ji" [purgative/aggressive agent], but should not be used in the early stages of the disease.

[Sangpiaoxiao San - Another Version/Addition]
Treats frequent and short urination (Pin shu [frequent] refers to frequent urination; Qian [short] refers to scanty urination. Although urine originates from the Bladder, the function of separating clear from turbid lies in the Small Intestine; when the Small Intestine is deficient, urinary abnormalities occur).
Ren Shen (Ginseng Root), Fu Ling (Poria, some versions use Fu Shen [Poria with Hostwood]), Yuan Zhi (Polygala Root), Shi Chang Pu (Acorus Rhizome, salt-fried), Sang Piao Xiao (Mantis Egg-case, salt-fried), Long Gu (Fossilized Bones), Gui Ban (Turtle Plastron, processed with butter).
This formula acts on the Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian and the Hand and Foot Taiyin Lung and Spleen Meridians. Deficiency leads to frequent urination, so Sang Piao Xiao and Long Gu are used to consolidate (Sang Piao Xiao tonifies the Kidney, Long Gu astringes essence); Heat leads to scanty urination, so Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis Root) and Gui Ban are used to nourish Yin; Ren Shen tonifies Heart Qi, Shi Chang Pu opens the Orifices of the Heart, Fu Ling can transmit Heart Qi to the Kidney, and Yuan Zhi can transmit Kidney Qi to the Heart.
