The *Suwen* (Basic Questions), chapter "Jinkui Zhenyan" (True Words of the Golden Cabinet) states: The color of the West is white, which communicates with the Lung (Zang organ governing respiration and qi), and the nose serves as its opening. The chapter "Yinyang Yingxiang Dalun" (Great Treatise on Yin-Yang and Corresponding Phenomena) states: The Lung governs the nose, manifesting as the nasal orifice. The chapter "Maidu" (Vessel Lengths) states: Lung Qi connects to the nose; when Lung Qi is harmonious, the nose can distinguish odors. The chapter "Wuzang Bie Lun" (Treatise on the Distinction of the Five Zang Organs) states: The five qi enter through the nose and are stored in the Heart and Lung. If there is disease in the Heart or Lung, the function of the nose becomes impaired. The chapter "Qijue Lun" (Treatise on Qi Reversal) states: When Gallbladder heat transfers to the brain, it results in Biyuan (nasal sinusitis characterized by foul-smelling discharge). The chapter "Jingmai" (Meridians) states: The Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian begins at the side of the nose, crossing at the root of the nose; its pathology manifests as Qiuniu (rhinorrhea and epistaxis). The Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian also presents with rhinorrhea and epistaxis, as does the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian. It further states: In cases of Spleen heat, the nose reddens first. Seven prescriptions are selected here.

**Dan Nanting Yin (Single Arisaema Decoction):** Treats wind-pathogen invading the brain, where old cold fails to dissipate, causing nodules in the nose that obstruct brain qi, leading to the discharge of turbid marrow-like fluid.
Grind Nanting (Arisaematis Rhizoma Preparatum) into fine powder. For each dose of 2 qian, decoct with 7 Jujube fruits (Jujubae Fructus) and a small amount of Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma). Take after meals. After three to four doses, the nodules will naturally expel, and nasal discharge will cease. Externally apply Bibie Bing (Piperis Kadsurae Cake).
**Bibie Bing (Piperis Kadsurae Cake):**
Ingredients: Bibie (Piperis Kadsurae Fructus), Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma), Dasuan (Allii Sativi Bulbus) (equal parts).

**Prescription for Unstoppable Epistaxis:**
Juice of fresh Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix) prepared by crushing and drinking stops bleeding immediately. Juice of Luobo (Raphani Fructus) mixed with Jiujiu (Vinum without sediment) is also effective. Renzhongbai (Urinae Humanis Praeparatum) processed via yin refining, taken with warm water, or drinking Tongbian (fresh urine) alone, are both excellent remedies.
