For cases where Qi deficiency fails to retain and secure, it is appropriate to tonify Qi to lift and raise; for Blood deficiency, add Blood-nourishing herbs; for Cold patterns, wash with a decoction of equal parts Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma) and Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba).
If the large intestine protrudes due to Heat in the Large Intestine, wash with a decoction of Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas). For Changfeng (Intestinal Wind), use Liangxue Qingchang San (Cooling Blood and Clearing Intestines Powder). (Deficient-Cold patterns are not painful; their prolapse and reduction are necessarily slippery; Excess-Heat patterns are necessarily painful and swollen, and their prolapse and reduction are necessarily rough/stagnant.) For Deficiency patterns complicated by Heat, use Huaihua San (Sophorae Flos Powder) or Bohe San (Menthae Haplocalycis Powder). For chronic cases that do not heal over time, one should frequently take Shouchang Yangxue Heqi Tang (Intestine-Receiving, Blood-Nourishing, and Qi-Harmonizing Decoction), and must also employ astringent methods such as Longgu San (Dragon Bone Powder) or Sechang San (Astringing Intestines Powder). Externally, sprinkle Wubeizi powder (Galla Chinensis) on a banana leaf to support the prolapse back into place; after several applications, it will no longer prolapse. Take three jin (approx. 1.5 kg) of raw iron, boil in ten dou (approx. 10 liters) of water until five sheng (approx. 2.5 liters) remain, and use this liquid for washing; internally, take Cishi San (Magnetite Powder). Another method is to burn turtle heads to ash and apply them.
This condition often arises from Damp-Heat generating parasites, intending to form hemorrhoids. Smoke the area with incense made of Xionghuang (Realgar) mixed with cotton wool and mugwort, and insert Qianglang Wan (Scarab Beetle Pill). Take seven Qianglang (Scarabaeus), collected on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, remove wings and legs, roast and powder them. Mix with five qian (approx. 18.75 g) of fresh cow dung and one liang (approx. 37.5 g) of fatty mutton stir-fried until fragrant. Form pills the size of jujube flesh. Heat the pill, wrap in new cotton, and insert into the anus. Do not eat for half a day; the parasites will exit, and healing occurs after three to five treatments. Apply ground almond paste externally. Steam one hu (approx. 100 liters) of peach leaves until extremely hot, place in a vessel with a small opening, and sit over it to fumigate; the parasites will die. Grind four or five Muiezi fruits (Strychnos nux-vomica) into a paste, rinse with boiling water, and apply a small amount to the affected area.
When Yang Qi is blocked by Yin and cannot extend, anger arises, similar to thunder stirring beneath the earth. The Zhen trigram symbolizes thunder, where Yang resides below Yin; thunder moves during rainy days. Rainy weather, described in terms of Qi, is Cold; described in terms of Image, it is Water. Water is a tangible substance. Thus, the body's Yang Qi may be blocked by intangible Cold Qi or hindered by tangible Phlegm and Blood stasis, preventing extension and causing郁 (stagnation) to transform into anger. The *Classic* states that when Blood aggregates in the upper part and Qi aggregates in the lower part, one tends to become angry easily. (Li Dongyuan believed that food filling the Taiyin [Spleen] causes Wood stagnation, and used emesis to unblock it, which follows this same principle.) Yang Qi governs ascending (associated with Liver and Gallbladder); thus, thunder occurs in spring. Yang governs expansion; encountering frustrating events prevents expansion, leading to anger, which is also the meaning of stagnation/repression. If anger cannot be expressed, express it. If anger is frequently expressed, calm it. The *Classic* says: Grief overcomes Anger.
