Avoid alcohol. Every seven days, drink one or two cups of freshly pressed Chinese chive juice.
Shen Yue's *Book of Song* records: Zhang Shou was once bitten by a dog. The physician advised eating mince made from toad (*Xia ma kuai*). Zhang Shou found it difficult. The physician smiled and tasted it first, after which Zhang Shou ate it, and the wound healed immediately.

The earwig (*Qu Sou*) is an insect that hides in walls. Its urine sprayed onto a person's shadow causes sores all over the body, resembling burns from boiling water or fire. The treatment is to burn feathers from a black chicken's wing to ash, mix with oil, and apply. Since chickens are feared by hundred insects, they can cure this (*Sui Sui Lu*). Someone suffering from this used an egg, drilled a small hole in the large end, took out the white, and applied it around the edges; it also healed.
Huang Xi, courtesy name Zhaodu, a scholar from Jianchang, said: A fellow townsman, a merchant, moored his boat in Xunyang. Under the moonlight, he vaguely heard two people conversing: "Last night, the offerings at Jinshan were grand. I went to attend, but the food smelled of blood and was inedible. I angrily blamed the cook for carelessness and dipped my hand into the cauldron; it has now ulcerated." Another said, "He certainly deserved blame, but your punishment was excessive." One replied, "I regret it, but there is nothing I can do." Another said, "What difficulty? I have medicine. Crush fresh Rehmannia root (*Sheng Di Huang*), mix with rice vinegar, and apply to the sore. It not only relieves pain but also removes scars. This prescription is excellent, but there is no way to let anyone know." The merchant, intending to go to Jinshan, heard their words and felt it was a supernatural intervention through him. He went to the temple to inquire and learned that a Water-Land Dharma Assembly was held that night. The cook had accidentally cut his finger with a knife, and blood fell into the food. In his trance, he felt as if a hand pulled his into the pot, causing bone-piercing pain and screams of despair. The merchant treated him according to the divine words, and he healed in two days (*Yi Jian Zhi*).
