Guizhi Longgu Muli Tang (Cinnamon Twig, Dragon Bone, and Oyster Shell Decoction) from *Jingui Yaolue* (Discussions on this formula are in the preceding text; *Duanju* states: for those who are weak, have floating heat, and sweat, remove Guizhi and add Baiwei and Fuzi, each 3 fen, hence it is called Erjia Longgu Tang.)
Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig), Shaoyao (White Peony Root), Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) (each 3 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root) (2 liang), Dazao (Jujube) (12 pieces), Longgu (Dragon Bone), Muli (Oyster Shell) (each 3 liang). The above seven ingredients are decocted with 7 sheng of water to obtain 3 sheng. Divide into three warm doses.
Tianxiong San (Aconite Root Powder) from *Jingui Yaolue* (Discussion available).
Tianxiong (Prepared Aconite Root) (3 liang, processed), Baizhu (Atractylodes Rhizome) (8 liang), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) (6 liang), Longgu (Dragon Bone) (3 liang). The above four ingredients are pounded into a powder. Take half a qianbi (a small measuring spoon) with wine, three times daily. If ineffective, slightly increase the dose.
Xiao Jianzhong Tang (Minor Construct the Middle Decoction) from *Jingui Yaolue* (Discussion available).
Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig, peeled) (3 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root, honey-fried) (3 liang), Dazao (Jujube) (12 pieces), Shaoyao (White Peony Root) (6 liang), Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) (2 liang), Jiaoyi (Maltose) (1 sheng). The above six ingredients are decocted with 7 sheng of water to obtain 3 sheng. Strain, add Jiaoyi, and gently heat until dissolved. Take 1 sheng warm, three times daily. (Patients with vomiting should not use Jianzhong Tang due to its sweetness. *Qianjin Fang* treats men and women with stagnant cold qi or post-illness non-recovery, suffering from heavy limbs, sore bones and muscles, shortness of breath, fatigue upon movement, chest fullness,急促 breathing, stiff back and waist, palpitations, dry throat and lips, pale complexion, loss of taste, hypochondriac distension, heavy head, excessive lying down, progressing to emaciation over years or months, exhaustion of the five zang organs, insufficient six pulses, deficiency-cold, lack of qi, lower abdominal tension, and various diseases due to emaciation, named Huangqi Jianzhong Tang. Additionally, Renshen (Ginseng Root) 2 liang may be added).
Huangqi Jianzhong Tang (Astragalus Minor Construct the Middle Decoction) from *Jingui Yaolue* (Discussion available. Add Huangqi (Astragalus Root) 1.5 liang to Xiao Jianzhong Tang, following the above method otherwise. For shortness of breath and chest fullness, add Shengjiang. For abdominal fullness, remove Dazao and add Fuling (Poria) 1.5 liang. To treat lung deficiency and tonify qi, add Banxia (Pinellia Tuber) 3 liang).
Leming Jianzhong Tang treats visceral deficiency, emaciation, tidal fever, spontaneous sweating, approaching phthisis. This medicine greatly reduces deficiency heat and generates blood and qi.
Qianhu (Peucedani Radix), Xixin (Asarum Root), Huangqi (Astragalus Root, honey-fried), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Guixin (Cinnamon Bark), Juapi (Citrus Peel, white part removed), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Baishaoyao (White Peony Root), Fuling (Poria), Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber), Gancao (Licorice Root, fried, each 1 liang), Banxia (Pinellia Tuber, washed seven times in hot water, sliced, 7.5 qian). Take 4 qian per dose, with 1 sheng of water, 4 slices of ginger, and 1 jujube. Decoct to 0.7 sheng, take warm at any time. Note: Leming Jianzhong Tang treats deficiency heat in consumptive disease by establishing the Ying (Nutritive) Blood within. Ying Qi circulates through the twelve meridians and is the essence of food and drink; thus, establishing Ying Qi allows it to be named "Constructing the Middle."
Shisiwei Jianzhong Tang (Fourteen-Ingredient Construct the Middle Decoction) treats disharmony of Ying and Wei, insufficiency of blood and qi, chronic consumption, emaciation, shortness of breath, lethargy, approaching phthisis.
Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root, soaked in wine and baked), Baishaoyao (White Peony Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber, core removed), Gancao (Licorice Root, fried), Rousongrong (Cistanche Stem), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Rhizome), Rougui (Cinnamon Bark), Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root), Huangqi (Astragalus Root), Zhibanxia (Processed Pinellia Tuber), Shudihuang (Rehmannia Root, steamed in wine and baked), Fuling (Poria) (equal parts). Coarsely crush. Take 3 qian per dose, with 1 sheng of water, 3 slices of ginger, and 1 jujube. Take warm on an empty stomach. Note: Shisiwei Jianzhong Tang treats inherent weakness of the Zang organs by simultaneously strengthening the Yin and Yang of the Spleen and Kidney. Consumptive diseases often originate in the Spleen and Kidney, so extending the method of "Constructing the Middle" is appropriate. These two formulas are later innovations surpassing standard prescriptions.
Bawei Shenqi Wan (Eight-Ingredient Kidney Qi Pill) from *Jingui Yaolue* (Discussion available, formula in preceding text).
Shuyu Wan (Dioscorea Pill) from *Jingui Yaolue* (Discussion available).
Shuyu (Dioscorea Rhizome) (30 fen), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig), Gadihuang (Dry Rehmannia Root), Qu (Medicated Leaven), Douhuangjuan (Sojae Germen) (each 10 fen), Gancao (Licorice Root) (28 fen), Xiong (Ligusticum Rhizome), Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber), Shaoyao (White Peony Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Xingren (Apricot Seed) (each 6 fen), Renshen (Ginseng Root) (7 fen), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root), Jiegeng (Platycodon Root), Fuling (Poria) (each 5 fen), Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) (7 fen), Jiangjiang (Dried Ginger) (3 fen), Bailian (Belamcanda Rhizome) (2 fen), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root) (6 fen), Dazao (Jujube) (100 pieces, made into paste). The above 21 ingredients are powdered, mixed with refined honey, and formed into pills the size of a bullet. Take one pill with wine on an empty stomach; 100 pills constitute one course.
Suanzaoren Tang (Ziziphus Seed Decoction) from *Jingui Yaolue* (Discussion available).
Suanzaoren (Ziziphus Seed) (2 sheng), Gancao (Licorice Root) (1 liang), Zhimu (Anemarrhena Rhizome) (2 liang), Fuling (Poria) (2 liang), Xiong (Ligusticum Rhizome) (2 liang) (*Shenshi Fang* adds Shengjiang 2 liang). The above five ingredients are decocted with 8 sheng of water. First decoct Suanzaoren until 6 sheng remain, then add other herbs and decoct to obtain 3 sheng. Divide into three warm doses.
Dahuang Zhechong Wan (Rhubarb and Ground Beetle Pill) from *Jingui Yaolue* (Discussion available).
Dahuang (Rhubarb Root, steamed) (10 fen), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root) (2 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root) (3 liang), Taoren (Peach Seed) (1 sheng), Xingren (Apricot Seed) (1 sheng), Shaoyao (White Peony Root) (4 liang), Gadihuang (Dry Rehmannia Root) (10 liang), Ganqi (Dried Resin of Toxicodendron) (1 liang), Mengchong (Blue Bottle Fly Larva) (1 sheng), Shuizhi (Leech) (100 pieces), Qicao (Ground Beetle Larva) (1 sheng), Zhechong (Ground Beetle) (0.5 sheng). The above 12 ingredients are powdered, mixed with refined honey, and formed into pills the size of a mung bean. Take 5 pills with wine, three times daily.
Zhigancao Tang (Honey-Fried Licorice Decoction) from *Jingui Yaolue*, appended from *Qianjin Yifang* (Discussion available).
Gancao (Licorice Root, honey-fried) (4 liang), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig), Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) (each 3 liang), Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber) (0.5 sheng), Mahren (Hemp Seed) (0.5 sheng), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) (each 2 liang), Dazao (Jujube) (30 pieces), Shengdi Huang (Fresh Rehmannia Root) (1 jin). The above nine ingredients are decocted with 7 sheng of wine and 8 sheng of water. First decoct the first eight ingredients to obtain 3 sheng, strain, add Ejiao until dissolved, and take 1 sheng warm, three times daily.
Tagan San (River Otter Liver Powder) from *Jingui Yaolue*, appended from *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* (Discussion available).
One River Otter Liver, dried by roasting and powdered. Take one fangcunbi (square-inch spoonful) with water, three times daily.
Shiquan Dabu San (Ten-Ingredient Great Tonifying Powder) treats various deficiencies in men and women, five labors and seven injuries, poor appetite, chronic deficiency, tidal fever, qi attacking the spine, stiffness and pain, nocturnal emission, sallow complexion, weak legs and knees, cough with chest fullness, weak Spleen and Kidney qi, five-center heat, and restlessness. All these conditions are treated.
Rougui (Cinnamon Bark), Gancao (Licorice Root), Shaoyao (White Peony Root), Huangqi (Astragalus Root), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Rhizome), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Fuling (Poria), Shudihuang (Rehmannia Root) (equal parts). Coarsely crush. Take two large qian per dose, with 1 sheng of water, 3 slices of ginger, and 2 jujubes. Decoct to 0.7 sheng, take warm at any time. Note: This formula combines Huangqi Jianzhong Tang, Sijunzi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction), and Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction), totaling ten ingredients, corresponding to the perfect number of heaven and earth, named Shiquan Dabu. It treats simultaneous deficiency of blood and qi and Yin and Yang, truly valuable. However, Rougui's pungent heat should not be the chief herb; if Kidney deficiency causes lower back and abdominal pain, use a small amount of Rougui. If Ying and Wei are deficient, use a small amount of Guizhi to harmonize, serving as an assistant.
Shengyu Tang (Sage Replenishing Decoction) treats all hemorrhages, blood deficiency with irritability and thirst, dryness and heat causing restless sleep, excessive pus discharge from sores, five-center heat, and thirst.
Shudihuang (Rehmannia Root), Shengdi Huang (Fresh Rehmannia Root), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root, mixed with wine, each 1 qian), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Huangqi (Astragalus Root, stir-fried), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Rhizome) (each 1 qian). Decoct with water and take. Note: Excessive bleeding or prolonged suppurating sores indicate Yin deficiency, but Yang deficiency is invariably present. Combining Renshen and Huangqi is indeed a good method. Generally, Yin deficiency cases should follow this principle.
Heidihuang Wan (Black Earth Rehmannia Pill) treats excess Yang and deficiency Yin, insufficient Spleen and Stomach, sexual depletion, emaciation and weakness, greenish-yellow complexion without fixed color. This is a Qi-tonifying and Stomach-nourishing agent.
Cangzhu (Atractylodes Lancea Rhizome, soaked in wine, 1 jin), Shudihuang (Rehmannia Root, 1 jin), Wuweizi (Schisandra Fruit) (0.5 jin), Jiangjiang (Dried Ginger) (1 liang in autumn/winter, 0.5 liang in summer, 7 qian in spring). Powder finely, mix with jujube paste, and form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take 100 pills before meals with rice water or wine. Excellent for blood deficiency and chronic hemorrhoids. *Neijing* states: "The Kidney dislikes dryness; hasten to eat pungent substances to moisten it." This medicine opens the pores, generates fluids, and moves Qi; Wuweizi's sourness astringes it. Although Yang is excess, there is no dryness-heat; rather, it is internal deficiency of the five Zang organs, thus benefiting blood and gathering Qi. This formula is akin to a divine prescription. Note: Cangzhu is the chief, Dihuang the minister, Wuweizi the assistant, and Jiangjiang the envoy. It treats Spleen and Kidney deficiency while removing Spleen dampness and Kidney dryness, excelling in both aspects, far superior to later Spleen-Kidney dual tonics with mixed ingredients.
Huanshao Dan (Return to Youth Pill) greatly tonifies all deficiencies of the Heart, Kidney, Spleen, and Stomach, mental and physical exhaustion, sudden decline in strength, heavy waist and legs, limb fatigue, blood and qi debility, and turbid urine.
Shanyao (Dioscorea Rhizome), Niuxi (Achyranthes Root, soaked in wine), Yuanzhi (Polygala Root, core removed), Shanzhuyu (Cornus Fruit, pit removed), Baifuling (White Poria, peel removed), Wuweizi (Schisandra Fruit), Bajitian (Morinda Root, soaked in wine, core removed), Rousongrong (Cistanche Stem, soaked in wine overnight), Shichangpu (Acorus Rhizome), Chushi (Celtis Fruit), Duzhong (Eucommia Bark, coarse peel removed, stir-fried with ginger juice and wine until silk breaks), Bo Huixiang (Fennel Fruit) (each 1 liang), Gouqizi (Goji Berry), Shudihuang (Rehmannia Root) (each 2 liang) (According to *Baojian*, Yang's original formula had Shanyao and Niuxi 1.5 liang each, Fuling, Shanzhuyu, Chushi, Duzhong, Wuweizi, Bajitian, Rousongrong, Yuanzhi, Huixiang 1 liang each, Shichangpu, Dihuang, Gouqizi 0.5 liang each). Powder finely, mix with refined honey and jujube paste, form pills the size of tung seeds. Take 30 pills with warm wine or salt water, three times daily before meals. After five days, strength returns; after ten days, spirit brightens; after half a month, Qi strengthens; after twenty days, eyesight clears; after one month, appetite increases at night, hands and feet stay warm in winter. Long-term use lightens the body, strengthens sinews and bones, enhances complexion, and delays aging. Adjust based on constitution. Add Zhizi Ren (Gardenia Seed) 1 liang for heat. Add Maidong 1 liang for restless Heart Qi. Add Wuweizi 1 liang for low spirit. Add Xuduan (Dipsacus Root) 1 liang for weak Yang. Regular use strengthens teeth, prevents malaria, improves female complexion, warms the uterus, and cures all diseases. Note: Yang's formulation gently tonifies the Heart, Kidney, Spleen, and Lung, aligning with *Neijing*: "For exhaustion, use warmth; for deficiency, use warmth." It is mild and peaceful, waiting for natural recovery. Suitable only for early-stage consumptive disease; if advanced, it is too slow. Generally effective for healthy middle-aged men and women. The name "Return to Youth" implies its purpose.
Renshen Yangrong Tang (Ginseng Nourishing Nutritive Decoction) treats combined Spleen and Lung deficiency, fever and aversion to cold, emaciated and tired limbs, poor appetite and diarrhea. If blood and qi deficiency manifest various symptoms, regardless of the disease or pulse, using this decoction will resolve them.
Baishaoyao (White Peony Root) (1.5 qian), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Chenpi (Aged Tangerine Peel), Huangqi (Astragalus Root, honey-fried), Guixin (Cinnamon Bark), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Gancao (Licorice Root, fried, each 1 qian), Shudihuang (Rehmannia Root), Wuweizi (Schisandra Fruit, stir-fried and crushed), Fuling (Poria) (each 0.75 qian), Yuanzhi (Polygala Root, core removed) (0.5 qian). Decoct with ginger and jujube water and take. Note: The ingredients primarily target the Heart and Spleen, not strongly tonifying the Lung. However, nourishing Ying Qi correctly involves tonifying the Heart and Spleen, as Ying Qi is the essence of food and drink governed by the Spleen. Upon reaching the Upper Jiao, Lung Wei and Heart Ying divide blood and qi governance. Thus, nourishing Ying does not originally extend to the Lung; the note on Lung deficiency in the formula is erroneous. Chang clarifies this because the meaning of nourishing Ying is crucial for consumptive disease.
Canzhu Gao (Ginseng and Atractylodes Paste) treats stroke-related weakness unresponsive to other medicines, or excessive consumption of vital Qi due to improper medication, leading to numerous deficiency syndromes. Using this medicine to tonify Middle Qi will cure all symptoms.
Renshen (Ginseng Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Rhizome) (equal parts). Decoct with water to a thick liquid and take. Note: This formula is not specifically designed for consumptive disease, yet it is essential for treating it. The ingredients are precious, and its effects are rapid and swift, unsurpassed by others. Later additions of Yiren (Coix Seed), Lianrou (Lotus Seed Flesh), Huangqi, Fuling, Shenqu (Medicated Leaven), Zexie (Alisma Rhizome), and Gancao are questionable regarding their role in tonifying primordial Qi. Stingy people may happily adopt these additions.
Renshen San (Ginseng Powder) treats pathogenic heat lodging in meridians, phlegm-cough with irritability and heat, dizziness and headache, night sweats, fatigue, and all blood-heat conditions fearing exhaustion.
Huangqin (Scutellaria Root) (0.5 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Fuling (Poria), Chi Shaoyao (Red Peony Root), Banxia Qu (Pinellia Medicated Leaven), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root), Gancao (Licorice Root), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Gange (Kudzu Root) (each 1 liang). Take 3 qian per dose, with 1 sheng of water, 4 slices of ginger, and 2 jujubes. Decoct to 0.7 sheng, take warm at any time. Note: This formula treats pathogenic heat shallowly lodged in meridians, not deeply invading Zang organs. Although using light herbs like Chaihu and Gange, it relies entirely on the power of Renshen and Baizhu to expel the pathogen. To prevent pathogen entering phlegm channels, Fuling and Banxia move phlegm. Combined with Danggui, Chi Shaoyao, and Huangqin, they treat heat in the blood. The dose is kept small (3 qian). Knowing restraint allows the safe use of Chaihu and Gange. This is Xu Shumi's formula, revealing deep insight, which Chang elucidates.
Baozhen Tang (Preserve Truth Decoction) treats consumptive disease with body weakness and bone-steaming fever, providing clear tonification.
Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Shengdi Huang (Fresh Rehmannia Root), Shudihuang (Rehmannia Root), Huangqi (Astragalus Root, honey-water fried), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Gancao (Licorice Root), Baifuling (White Poria) (each 0.5 qian), Tianmendong (Asparagus Tuber, core removed), Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber, core removed), Baishaoyao (White Peony Root), Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark, salt-water fried), Zhimu (Anemarrhena Rhizome), Wuweizi (Schisandra Fruit), Ruan Chaihu (Soft Bupleurum Root), Digupi (Lycium Bark), Chenpi (Aged Tangerine Peel) (each 1 qian), Lianxin (Lotus Plumule) (0.5 qian). Decoct with 2 zhong of water, 3 slices of ginger, and 1 jujube to 0.8 zheng. Take well after meals. Note: This 18-ingredient formula uses 9 ingredients from Shiquan Dabu Tang, excluding only Rougui. Adding Dihuang replaces the ascending nature of Chuanxiong, which is more suitable. Huangbai, Zhimu, and Wuweizi nourish Kidney Water; Tianmendong, Maidong, and Digupi clear and tonify the Lung; Chaihu enters the Liver to clear heat; Chenpi assists the Spleen in moving stagnation. The emphasis is on Tianmendong, Maidong, Huangbai, Zhimu, Wuweizi, Digupi, and Chaihu, reluctantly borrowing Shiquan Dabu to facilitate action. The intent is not strong tonification, but it is a valid method, hence recorded.
Sancai Fengsui Dan (Three Capabilities Sealing Marrow Pill) descends Heart Fire, benefits Kidney Water, nourishes Yin and blood, moistens and tonifies without drying.
Tianmendong (Asparagus Tuber, core removed), Shudihuang (Rehmannia Root), Renshen (Ginseng Root) (each 0.5 liang), Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark) (3 liang), Sharen (Amomum Fruit) (1.5 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root, fried) (0.75 liang). Powder the above six ingredients, make pills with wheat paste the size of tung seeds. Take 50 pills per dose. Soak 0.5 liang of Rousongrong slices in 1 sheng of wine overnight, boil 3-4 times next day, strain, and take on an empty stomach before meals. Note: Added to Sancai Wan are Huangbai, Sharen, and Gancao. Huangbai enters the Kidney to nourish Yin; Sharen enters the Spleen to move stagnation; Gancao moderates the bitterness of Tianmendong and Huangbai, combining with Renshen to construct Middle Qi, balancing the powers of Ginseng. This is not merely adding to existing formulas, hence recorded.
Tianzhen Wan (Heavenly True Pill) treats excessive blood loss, emaciation and limb wasting, inability to eat or drink, loose bowels, and exhaustion of fluids. Long-term use generates blood, nourishes Qi, warms the Stomach, and preserves youth.
Fine Lamb Meat (7 jin, remove fascia, slice open fat skin, insert powdered herbs below.)
Rousongrong (Cistanche Stem) (10 liang), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root, wash off roots) (12 liang), Shanyao (Dioscorea Rhizome, wet ones peeled) (10 liang), Tianmendong (Asparagus Tuber, core removed, dried) (1 jin). Powder the above four ingredients, wrap inside lamb meat, tie securely. Decoct with 4 bottles of pure wine until wine is exhausted, then add 2 sheng of water and cook until meat is tender. Add Huangqi powder (5 liang), Renshen powder (3 liang), Baizhu powder (2 liang), and cooked glutinous rice. Bake into cakes, mix with previous powders, and form pills the size of tung seeds. Take 300 pills twice daily with warm wine. If difficult to pill, bake 5-7 steamed buns, pound 1000 times in a mortar, and pill. Note: This formula excels in tonification. Renshen and lamb meat share efficacy; Rousongrong and Shanyao are excellent for men. Combined with Danggui to nourish Ying, Huangqi to benefit Wei, Tianmendong to protect Lung, and Baizhu to strengthen Spleen, its preparation is exquisite, worthy of being the head of tonifying formulas.
Maijian San (Wheat Decoction Powder) treats young men and women with bone-steaming, yellow emaciation, bad breath, skin heat, night sweats, and women's wind-blood. Attacks limbs with infectious diseases.
Chifuling (Red Poria), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Ganqi (Dried Resin of Toxicodendron), Biejia (Softshell Turtle Shell, vinegar-roasted), Changshan (Radix Dichroae), Dahuang (Rhubarb Root, baked), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Shengdi Huang (Fresh Rehmannia Root), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (each 1 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root) (0.5 liang). Powder. Take 3 qian per dose with 50 wheat grains, decoct with water, take after meals before bed. If deficient sweating occurs, add Mahuanggen (Ephedra Root) 1 liang. Note: This formula treats excess fire in Liver, Lung, Spleen, and Stomach burning Ying blood, causing bad breath and skin heat. Thus, it uses blood-moistening and stasis-resolving methods, decocting with wheat to guide into the Stomach. Since Stomach blood is dry and heat blazes in the Large Intestine causing dryness, taking this is unquestionable. However, adding Renshen to assist Stomach true Qi allows for better results with continued use.
Renshen Digupi San (Ginseng and Lycium Bark Powder) treats accumulated cold in Zang organs, heat in Ying, deficiency on pressure, excess on lifting, indicating insufficient Yin and excess Yang.
Fuling (Poria) (0.5 liang), Zhimu (Anemarrhena Rhizome), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (each 1 liang), Digupi (Lycium Bark), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root), Shengdi Huang (Fresh Rehmannia Root) (each 1.5 liang). Coarsely crush. Take 1 liang per dose with 3 slices of ginger and 1 jujube. Decoct with water, take warm slowly. Intermittently take Shengjing Buxu Dihuang Wan (Generate Essence and Tonify Deficiency Rehmannia Pill). Note: Accumulated cold in Zang and heat in Ying create different harms. This formula only treats Ying heat, not Zang cold. The formula notes intermittent use of Shengjing Buxu Dihuang Wan. Is one formula meant to address two issues? Or is treating Ying heat most urgent, leaving no time for Zang cold? Following this method, wait for Ying heat to clear slightly, then treat Zang cold. This is a minor balance in medication.
Dongyuan Buzhong Yiqi Tang (East Mountain Center-Building Qi-Boosting Decoction)
Huangqi (Astragalus Root) (1.5 qian), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Gancao (Licorice Root, fried, each 1 qian), Baizhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Danggui Shen (Angelica Sinensis Root heart), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root), Shengma (Cimicifuga Rhizome), Chenpi (Aged Tangerine Peel) (each 0.5 qian).
