The patient's skin and extremities emit sounds resembling the chirping of earthworms. When the sound occurs, apply earthworm feces immediately to the affected area. Once the sound ceases, administer the following prescription:
Coix Seed (Yiren) and Euryale Seed (Qianshi), each 1 liang; Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), 5 qian; Raw Licorice Root (Sheng Gancao) and Scutellaria Root (Huangqin), each 3 qian; Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng), 5 fen; Aconite Root (Fuzi), 3 fen.
Decoct in water and take orally; recovery will follow.
A mass resembling a human head suddenly appears on the patient's back, complete with eyes, ears, mouth, and nose, capable of calling out people's names. At the onset of this condition, there is invariably back pain accompanied by itching. Scratching it with hands causes it to grow gradually; over time, its form becomes distinct, reaching the size of a teacup, though lacking hair, beard, eyebrows, and ears. If cut open with a knife at this stage, the patient will die instantly without hope of rescue. The appropriate treatment involves the following prescription:
Ginseng Root (Renshen), 8 liang; Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome (Baizhu), 5 liang; Fritillaria Bulb (Beimu), White Mustard Seed (Baijiezi), Poria (Fuling), Raw Licorice Root (Sheng Gancao), and Rock Salt (Qingyan), each 3 liang; Alum (Baifan) and Pinellia Tuber (Banxia), each 2 liang.
Grind all ingredients into powder, mix with rice paste to form pills the size of Chinese wolfberry seeds. Take twice daily (morning and evening), swallowing 5 qian with warm water. The head-like mass will gradually shrink until healed.
This is caused by excessive Yang fire. First, apply a small amount of Borneol (Longnao) to the site to subdue the symptoms. Then use the following prescription:
Ginseng Root (Renshen), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), and White Peony Root (Baishao), each 3 qian; Patchouli Rhizome (Changpu) and Bupleurum Root (Chaihu), each 1 qian.
Decoct in water and take orally; two doses should result in recovery.
This is due to cold qi congealing in the chest and abdomen, causing the patient's tongue to retract into the throat, rendering them unable to speak. Urgently administer the following prescription:
Ginseng Root (Renshen), 3 qian; Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome (Baizhu), 5 qian; Prepared Aconite Root (Fuzi), Cinnamon Bark (Rougui), and Dried Ginger (Ganjiang), each 1 qian.
Decoct in water and take orally; after one dose, the tongue will naturally extend.
A protrusion of one cun suddenly appears in the patient's palm, neither painful nor itchy. This results from heat in the Yangming Meridian failing to dissipate, stagnating in the palm. Treat using the following method:
One piece of Prepared Aconite Root (Fuzi).
Decoct in water and have the patient hold the vessel with their hand until the liquid cools. Repeat this for ten days. Initially, severe pain will be felt, followed by itching, and finally, the protrusion will gradually flatten.
This is caused by Fire of Metal (Lung) obstructing the nose without release, resulting in a nose enlarged like a fist and excruciating pain. Treatment should clear pathogenic factors from the Lung and remove heat from the nose. Use the following prescription:
Scutellaria Root (Huangqin), Licorice Root (Gancao), Ophiopogon Tuber (Maidong), and Trichosanthes Root (Tianhuafen), each 3 qian; Platycodon Root (Jiegeng) and Asparagus Fern Tuber (Tiandong), each 5 qian; Aster Root (Ziwan), 2 qian; Stemona Root (Baibu) and Perilla Leaf (Zisu), each 1 qian.
Decoct in water and take orally; four doses will cause spontaneous resolution.
