Chong (Stinkbug, *Eupolyphaga sinensis*) (stir-fried) 5 fen, Banmao (Mustard Beetle, *Mylabris phalerata*) (remove feet and stir-fried) 2 fen, Dichang (Ground Beetle, *Blatta orientalis* or similar species used in ancient texts, often referring to *Pheretima* or specific beetles depending on context, here likely a specific beetle variant) (remove feet and stir-fried) 2 fen, Zhuling (Polyporus, *Polyporus umbellatus*) 3 fen.
Crush the above ingredients into powder. Take 4 fenbi per dose, administered with wheat juice. Take three times daily and twice at night. If there is heat, remove Zhuling. After two days of taking the medicine, collect urine in a vessel; excrement should be discharged. In Roulin (Flesh Strangury), fragmented flesh-like matter is discharged; in Xuelin (Blood Strangury), material resembling short ropes is discharged. If the discharge resembles pus from meat; in Qilin (Qi Strangury), the discharge resembles the fat floating on soup; in Shilin (Stone Strangury), stones or sand are discharged. Severe cases will heal within ten days.
Shilin (Stone Strangury) refers to strangury accompanied by the passage of stones. Its symptoms include pain in the urethra during urination, inability to void urine immediately, pain radiating to the lower abdomen and bladder, urgency, and the discharge of sand and stones from the urethra. In severe cases, blockage and pain cause fainting. Treatment uses:
Baiziren (Biota Seed, *Biota orientalis*), Jiezi (Mustard Seed, *Sinapis alba*), Huashi (Talcum, *Talcum*) in equal parts.
Grind into powder. Administer one fangcunbi with rice water. Three doses should yield efficacy.
Relin (Heat Strangury) is caused by heat qi in the Sanjiao (Triple Burner) clashing with the Kidney and flowing into the Bladder (Paomao), resulting in strangury. Treatment uses:
Huashi (Talcum, *Talcum*) 2 liang, Gualou (Trichosanthes Fruit, *Trichosanthes kirilowii*) 3 liang, Shiwei (Leaves of Pyrus Calleryana, *Pyrus calleryana*) (remove hairs) 2 fen.
Grind the above into a powder. Administer one fangcunbi with the clear liquid of barley porridge, three times daily.
Xuelin (Blood Strangury) involves heat in the Lower Jiao. It causes strangury and obstruction. When heat is excessive, it clashes with the blood vessels; blood, heated, overflows into the Paomao (Bladder) and is discharged together with urine, hence named Blood Strangury. Treatment uses:
Baimaogen (Rhizoma Imperatae, *Imperata cylindrica*), Shaoyao (Peony Root, *Paeonia lactiflora*), Mutong (Akebia Stem, *Akebia quinata*), Cheqianzi (Plantago Seed, *Plantago asiatica*) each 3 liang; Huashi (Talcum, *Talcum*), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root, *Scutellaria baicalensis*) each 1.5 liang; Luanfa (Human Hair, *Capilli Humani*) (burned to ash), Dongkuizi (Malva Seed, *Malva verticillata*) (lightly stir-fried) each 5 qian.
Crush and sieve the above eight ingredients. Take 3 qian per dose. Decoct in water and take warm, three times daily.
Laolin (Fatigue Strangury) refers to strangury generated by heat arising from fatigue damaging Kidney Qi. Its presentation includes urine retention in the urethra, frequent urges without voiding, pain radiating to the lower abdomen, difficult urination, and onset triggered by fatigue, hence named Fatigue Strangury. Formula uses:
Huashi (Talcum, *Talcum*) 3 fen, Wangbuliuxing (Vaccaria Seed, *Vaccaria segetalis*), Dongkuizi (Malva Seed, *Malva verticillata*), Cheqianzi (Plantago Seed, *Plantago asiatica*), Guixin (Cinnamon Twig, *Cinnamomum cassia*), Gansui (Kansui Root, *Euphorbia kansui), Tongcao (Tetrapanax Pith, *Tetrapanax papyrifer*) each 2 fen; Shiwei (Leaves of Pyrus Calleryana, *Pyrus calleryana*) (remove hairs) 4 fen.
Grind the above into a powder. Mix with hemp seed porridge and administer one fangcunbi, three times daily. Recovery occurs when urine becomes clear.
