上星（一穴，在前发际上二寸，当顶门灸一壮，血即止。）
百劳（一穴，在大椎节陷中是，灸二三十壮，断根不发。）
治鼻血如涌泉不止
用草纸折叠于余层，井泉湿透，贴顶中心。分发，以热熨斗熨之，微热不妨，久之即止。
（嗽出痰内有红是，宜清痰、顺气、降火。）
（《集成》）二门冬饮 治肾虚咳血。
天门冬（去心） 麦门冬（去心，各八分） 紫菀 远志（去心，各五分） 知母（八分）
地黄 泽泻 贝母（各六分） 黄柏（八分） 桔梗（八分） 牡蛎（一钱） 桂（五分） 百部（八分）
上水钟半，煎七分，不拘时服。
当归芍药汤 治咳血。
当归 芍药 白术（各一钱） 牡丹皮 桃仁 栀子（炒黑。各八分） 甘草（三分） 青皮（五分）
上水盏半，煎七分，食远服。
薏苡仁散 治咳嗽血，肺损。
薏苡仁（为细末），用猪肺煮熟，切块，蘸而吃之。或以猪心一个，竹刀切开，勿令相离。
以沉香末一钱，半夏七个，入在心内合定。纸里蘸小便，内令湿，煨熟，去半夏，止吃心。
鸡苏散 黄 散 救肺散（并治咳血，方见吐血条下。）
（血随唾而出也。此血出于肾也）
治与咳血参用。鸡苏散、天门冬饮皆可用。
（咯出血疙瘩也。痰中带血丝同）
丹溪用姜汁、童便、青黛入血药中，如四物汤、地黄膏、牛膝膏之类。
七珍汤 治痨瘵咯血。
四君子汤加山药、黄柏、粟米、姜枣煎。
肾饼子 治咯血。
青黛（一钱） 杏仁（四十粒，去皮尖，黄蜡煎黄色）
上研杏仁细，入青黛，捏作饼子。用时以柿一枚，破开，以饼置其中合定，湿纸裹煨，研，
米汤下。
四生丸 甘露饮 生地散（并治咯血，方见前。）
上星穴（一个穴位，位于前发际线向上二寸处，正对头顶百会区域。艾灸一壮，鼻血即可停止。）
百劳穴（一个穴位，位于大椎穴下方的凹陷中。艾灸二三十壮，可断绝病根，不再复发。）
治疗鼻出血如涌泉般不止：
用草纸折叠成多层，用井泉水浸透，贴在头顶正中部位。将头发分开，用热熨斗熨烫该处，微热无妨，时间久了出血就会停止。
（咳嗽时痰中带红色血液，适宜采用清化痰浊、顺理气机、降泄火邪的方法。）
《医方集成》中的二门冬饮，治疗肾虚引起的咳血。
天门冬（去除心部）八分，麦门冬（去除心部，各八分），紫菀五分，远志（去除心部，各五分），知母八分，地黄六分，泽泻六分，贝母六分，黄柏八分，桔梗八分，牡蛎一钱，桂枝五分，百部八分。
以上药材加入半钟水，煎煮至七分水量，不拘时间服用。
当归芍药汤，治疗咳血。
当归一钱，芍药一钱，白术一钱，牡丹皮八分，桃仁八分，栀子（炒黑）八分，甘草三分，青皮五分。
以上药材加入一盏半水，煎煮至七分水量，在饭后较长时间服用。
薏苡仁散，治疗咳嗽咯血及肺部损伤。
将薏苡仁研为细末，用猪肺煮熟后切成块，蘸取药末食用。或者取一个猪心，用竹刀切开，注意不要完全切断。
将沉香末一钱、半夏七个放入猪心内，合拢固定。用浸过小便的湿纸包裹，煨熟，去掉半夏，只吃猪心。
鸡苏散、黄芪散、救肺散（均治疗咳血，具体方剂见吐血条目下）。
（血液随唾液而出。这种血源于肾脏。）
治疗方法与咳血参考通用方案。鸡苏散、天门冬饮均可使用。
（咯出带有血块的物质。痰中带血丝的情况相同。）
朱丹溪主张在止血药中加入姜汁、童便（健康儿童的小便）、青黛，例如四物汤、地黄膏、牛膝膏等方剂。
七珍汤，治疗虚劳痨瘵引起的咯血。
四君子汤加入山药、黄柏、粟米、生姜、大枣煎服。
肾饼子，治疗咯血。
青黛一钱，杏仁四十粒（去皮尖，用黄蜡煎至黄色）。
将杏仁研细，加入青黛，捏制成饼状。使用时取一个柿子，破开，将药饼放入其中合拢，用湿纸包裹煨熟，研磨后，用米汤送服。
Shangxing (EX-HN23, one acupoint, located two cun above the anterior hairline, directly over the vertex. Moxibustion of one cone stops bleeding immediately.)
Bilao (Extra point, located in the depression below the Dazhui GV14 acupoint. Moxibustion of 20-30 cones eliminates the root cause and prevents recurrence.)
Treatment for epistaxis flowing like a gushing spring:
Fold several layers of straw paper, soak them thoroughly with well water, and apply to the center of the top of the head. Part the hair and iron the area with a hot iron. Slight warmth is acceptable; after a while, the bleeding will stop.
(Coughing up sputum with red blood indicates the need to clear phlegm, regulate qi, and descend fire.)
Er Mendong Yin (Two Asparagus Decoction) from *Yi Fang Ji Cheng* treats hemoptysis due to Kidney deficiency.
Tianmendong (Asparagi Radix, heart removed), 8 fen; Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed), 8 fen; Ziwan (Asteris Radix), 5 fen; Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix, heart removed), 5 fen; Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), 8 fen; Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix), 6 fen; Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), 6 fen; Beimu (Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus), 6 fen; Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), 8 fen; Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), 8 fen; Muli (Concha Ostreae), 1 qian; Gui (Cinnamomi Ramulus), 5 fen; Baibu (Stemonae Radix), 8 fen.
Add half zhong of water, decoct until three-tenths remain. Take at any time.
Danggui Shaoyao Tang (Angelica Sinensis and Paeonia Decoction) treats hemoptysis.
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), 1 qian; Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), 1 qian; Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), 1 qian; Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex), 8 fen; Taoren (Persicae Semen), 8 fen; Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus, stir-fried black), 8 fen; Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), 3 fen; Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), 5 fen.
Add one and a half zhan of water, decoct until three-tenths remain. Take long after meals.
Yiyiren San (Coix Seed Powder) treats cough with blood and lung damage.
Grind Yiyiren (Coicis Semen) into fine powder. Cook pig lungs until done, cut into pieces, and eat dipped in the powder. Alternatively, take one pig heart, slice open with a bamboo knife without separating completely. Place Chenxiang powder (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum), 1 qian, and seven Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) inside the heart, close it, wrap in paper soaked in urine, and bake until cooked. Remove the Banxia and consume only the heart.
Jisu San (Elsholtzia Powder), Huangqi San (Astragalus Powder), Jiufei San (Save Lung Powder) all treat hemoptysis (formulas see under Epistaxis section).
(Blood mixed with saliva originates from the Kidney.)
Treatment refers to methods used for hemoptysis. Both Jisu San and Er Mendong Yin are applicable.
(Spitting out blood clots; similar to blood streaks in sputum.)
Zhu Danxi recommends adding Jiangzhi (Zingiberis Recens Juice), Tongbian (Child's Urine), and Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis) to blood-stopping formulas such as Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction), Dihuang Gao (Rehmannia Paste), or Niuxi Gao (Achyranthes Paste).
Shizhen Tang (Seven Treasures Decoction) treats hemoptysis due to consumption disease (Laozai).
Sijunzi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction) plus Shanyao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), Sumi (Setaria Italica), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), and Dazao (Jujubae Fructus), decocted.
Shenbingzi (Kidney Cake) treats hemoptysis.
Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), 1 qian; Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum), 40 grains (skin and tip removed, fried in beeswax until yellow).
Grind the Xingren finely, mix with Qingdai, and shape into cakes. To use, break open one persimmon, place the cake inside, close it, wrap in wet paper, and bake. Grind and swallow with rice soup.
Sisheng Wan (Four Generations Pill), Ganlu Yin (Sweet Dew Decoction), Shengdi San (Rehmannia Powder) all treat hemoptysis (formulas see previous sections).
