According to *Yi Shuo* (Medical Sayings): Wang Zhongli had a fondness for alcohol. In his prime, sores erupted on his nose and spread to the central area of his face (corresponding to the Heart region). He was deeply disgusted by this condition, but medication proved ineffective. A monk advised him to take *Heshouwu Wan* (Polygonum Multiflorum Pill), requiring two *jin* (approx. 1 kg) of the herb. Fortunately, his servant recognized the medicinal plant and dug it up. The processing method forbade the use of iron vessels; instead, it was steamed with black soybeans in a clay mortar. Once prepared, it had an appealing fragrance. It was believed that the water obtained from steaming could dispel wind pathogens, and after clarification, it was used to wash the face. Initially, there was an intense sensation of heat, which gradually progressed to numbness. By evening, severe swelling occurred, making the eyes, ears, mouth, and nose indistinguishable. Onlookers were filled with shock and fear. Wang’s mother said, "One does not contract wind-related leprosy-like conditions overnight. My brother has been poisoned, how could it reach such a state? I have heard that fresh ginger juice and adzuki beans can detoxify, while *Shandougen* (Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix) and black clam powder can reduce swelling." She urgently ordered her servant to crush ginger to extract its juice, grind the three ingredients into powder, mix them, and apply the paste to the affected area. By midnight, the swelling subsided, and by dawn, he had returned to normal. It was later discovered that the initial selection of *Heshouwu* (Polygonum Multiflorum) was impure, contaminated with *Yelangdu* (Euphorbia fischeriana root or similar toxic Euphorbia species), causing this severe reaction.

Burn silkworm pupal cases to ash, finely grind one *qian* (approx. 3.75 g), and administer with cool water. A single dose yields immediate results. Even if the complexion is cyanotic, pulse is absent, abdomen is distended, and hematemesis occurs, administration leads to immediate revival.

Crush fresh banana roots and leaves to extract juice and drink it. This stops dysentery and brings peace.
Another prescription: Decoct *Huanglian* (Coptidis Rhizoma) and *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), cool the decoction, and drink.

Crush fresh ginger to extract juice and drink. If poisoned by *Banxia* (Pinelliae Rhizoma), resulting in inability to speak and collapse resembling death, rapidly instill ginger juice. Recovery occurs within moments.

Human exposure to [this toxin] causes erythematous sores; contact with the eyes results in blindness.
Apply the roe and juice of raw crabs topically; healing occurs after several applications. Alternatively, wash with decoction of *Shanmu* (Cedri Lignum).
Another prescription: Apply powder of *Wumingyi* (Galbanum or similar resinous substance) topically.

Decoct *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) into a concentrated decoction and ingest. Alternatively, mixing rice vinegar with rock sugar is also effective for detoxification.

Boil black soybeans to extract juice and drink. Juice of *Jiqing* (Shepherdiae Fructus), mung bean soup, and *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) decoction are all effective.

Those poisoned exhibit incessant laughter.
Drinking *Dijiangshui* (Earth Slurry Water) leads to immediate recovery.

Mix pig lard with soybean juice and drink.

Boil *Jiqing* (Shepherdiae Fructus) to extract juice and drink. Another prescription suggests using *Guizhi Tang* (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) with good effect.

*Zhi Yanshi* (Fluorite), ground into powder, two *qian* (approx. 7.5 g), mixed with warm water and taken orally. Two to three doses result in cure.

Ingesting *Dijiangshui* (Earth Slurry Water) is the superior method. Another prescription suggests consuming clam meat, which is also beneficial.
