[Stroke Syndrome] Sudden reversal of Qi and Blood, deficiency fire, and phlegm turbidity. All stroke cases must present with deviation of the mouth and eye. If the pathogen enters the Fu organs, the four limbs cannot be controlled; if it enters the Zang organs, the nine orifices become dysfunctional, leading to coma, critical condition, and aphasia. Although formulas such as Xuming Tang (Cure-all Decoction) are used, moxibustion and acupuncture must be combined to achieve complete recovery.
When wind pathogen invades the five internal organs, Qi becomes obstructed and saliva surges upward, causing aphasia and coma: Points Baihui (GV20), Fengchi (GB20), Dazhui (GV14), Jianjing (GB21), Quchi (LI11), Zusanli (ST36), Jianshi (PC5).
Whenever one feels mental confusion, unsettled spirit, and numbness in the hands and feet, these are signs of impending stroke. Regardless of whether caused by wind or Qi stagnation, quickly moxa these seven points. This is called "drilling apertures to dispel wind," ensuring safety.
Deviation of the mouth and eye due to stroke: Points Tinghui (GB2), Jiache (ST6), Baihui (GV20), Dicang (ST4). Moxa the opposite side for left-sided lesions, and vice versa. Use wheat-grain-sized moxa cones, applying frequently until the mouth and eye return to normal.
