[Decoction for Egret Plague]
Chenduan Shi (Calcined Oolite, 3 liang), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 1.5 liang, sliced).
Stir-fry the above two ingredients together until the Chenduan Shi turns red. Remove the Dahuang, and grind the remaining Chenduan Shi into an extremely fine powder for later use.
Take dry soil from a shady path, pile it into a circle around the patient's umbilicus. Have a robust person urinate into the circle. After a short while, the patient will awaken. After awakening, do not consume cold water or decoctions.
Another method: Dig three chi deep into the ground, draw fresh well water, pour it in and stir to make it turbid. This water is called "Dijiang" (Earth Slurry). Drink several bowls, and the condition will resolve. Dijiang can also detoxify all kinds of malignant poisons.
In emergencies, bind two jin of scallions with a rope, cut off both ends, and shape them like a cake. Heat the cake on fire and place it below the umbilicus, then iron/heat it with fire; the patient will revive. Alternatively, use rice or stove ash instead of scallions.
Use one large bronze coin, tied with a velvet thread. Prepare a separate bowl containing soybean oil and genuine distilled liquor, mixed evenly. Dip the coin into the oil-liquor mixture and scrape the flexures of the joints in the hands and feet.
One prescription treats Shazhang (Sha Distension, an acute syndrome characterized by sudden abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea). Use Mingfan (Alumen) dissolved in warm drinking water, or administer via enema/gavage, inducing vomiting and diarrhea to cure the disease.
The difference between this syndrome and Shazhang lies only in distinguishing by the eye corners. In Shazhang, the eyeballs appear cyanotic; in Yangmaozhen (Wool Rash, a febrile exanthematous infectious disease), they often appear yellow. In Shazhang, the fingernails are mostly cyanotic.
If bleeding occurs simultaneously from the ears, eyes, mouth, and nose, it is named "Shang Xu Xia Jie" (Upper Deficiency and Lower Exhaustion), leading to death within moments, leaving no time for medication. First, spray cold water onto the face a few times... [text missing] ...then it stops.
(This syndrome presents with yellowing of the face and eyes, excessive sleepiness, a purple tongue with severe cracks; if the nail beds turn black, the prognosis is fatal.)
Danshouchi (Prepared Soybean, 5 qian), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, 1 liang), decoct to obtain the juice. Dip a cloth in the medicinal juice and wipe the tongue to remove a layer of black coating. Then, decoct the Danshouchi soup strongly and drink it.
Whether adult or child, if the abdomen suddenly turns dark green/black and consciousness is lost, this is due to blood and qi failing to nourish, allowing wind-cold to invade, resulting in a bizarre manifestation; it is truly critical and dangerous.
There is also... [text missing] ...danger.
The rectum prolapses more than one cun, causing extreme pain. Wait until it dries up and falls off naturally, then it may prolapse again. This is called "Jiechang Bing" (Rectal Prolapse Disease). If the entire intestine prolapses, it is incurable. But if it is in the initial stage... [text missing] ...Huai... [text missing]
Chao Jiapian (Processed Pangolin Scales), ground into powder, applied externally.
(Swelling of both cheeks, aversion to cold and heat indicates...)
Externally, use Ban sheng of Chidou (Vigna Angularis Seed), grind into powder, mix with water, and apply as a poultice. Or crush Ce Baiye (Biota Orientalis Leaf) and apply externally. Boil Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) into a strong decoction and take it hot.
