For sores covering the entire head, use the root bark of *Phytolacca acinosa* (Phytolaccae Radix) found near water. Dry it, grind it into powder, add a small amount of Realgar powder (Realgar), and mix with raw sesame oil for external application.

If erysipelas (a bacterial skin infection) spreads throughout the body and reaches the heart, it is fatal. Applying mashed Chinese cabbage externally can stop the progression.

Take equal parts of Luffa fruit (Luffae Fructus Retiatus), Juncus effusus (Junci Medulla), and the white part of green onion. Decoct in water to make a liquid for bathing the infant, and allow the infant to drink a small amount.

For persistent coughing and vomiting, take Ephedrae Herba (Ephedra), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Saposhnikovia), and Schizonepetae Spica (Schizonepeta), each 3 qian, ground into powder. Mix with 5 qian of mung bean flour. Decoct 3 qian of Apricot Kernel (Armeniacae Semen Amarum) in water. Use this decoction to mix with the aforementioned powders. Administer approximately 1 qian per dose, adjusted according to the child's age and size.

For bloody dysentery, extract juice from fresh Purslane (Portulacae Herba), one he. Mix with two teaspoons of honey. Decoct and administer on an empty stomach.

Take one chicken egg, boil for two or three minutes, remove, discard the white, and use only the yolk. Grind the yolk finely, mix with half a small cup of ginger juice, and administer to the child. Tea should be avoided during treatment; the effect is miraculous.

For critical cases of malnutrition-associated dysentery, take one sheng of fresh sheep manure and one sheng of water. Soak overnight. Squeeze out the juice early the next morning and administer in one dose. Feed at noon. For severe cases, three doses will cure the condition.

Seven mother cloves (Myristica fragrans seed, specifically the dried aril known as "mother clove"), ground into powder. Steam three times mixed with breast milk. Administer with ginger soup.

Prepare pills using: Magnetitum (Needle Sand, 4 liang, quenched in vinegar seven times), Alumen Viride (Vitriolum Ferri, 4 liang, calcined), Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex (Magnolia Bark, 1 liang, stir-fried with ginger juice), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Green Citrus Peel, 1 liang), Sparganii Rhizoma (Sparganium Root, 1 liang), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Tangerine Peel, 1 liang), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata (Prepared Aconite Root, 1 liang), Costi Radix (Costus Root, 1 liang), Realgar (Realgar, 1 liang), Arecae Semen (Betel Nut, 1 liang), Quisqualis Fructus (Quisqualis Fruit, 1 liang), and eight turtle feet (soaked in vinegar and baked dry). Grind all ingredients into powder, mix with vinegar to form pills the size of millet seeds. Take on an empty stomach with water. Dosage for a one-year-old child: 3 fen.

Take twenty stalks of Juncus effusus (Junci Medella), 5-6 cun long, and seven cicada sloughs (Cicadae Periostracum), removing heads, legs, and wings, keeping only the transparent abdominal shell. Place 3 qian of high-quality Cinnabar (Cinnabaris) inside, seal tightly with new white sand paper, tie with thread, and suspend in a clay pot filled with water using weights on both sides. Simmer based on the child's size: either half a zhong of water reduced to one zhong, or one zhong of water reduced to seven-tenths. Administer the decoction; recovery is immediate.

For pediatric convulsions with abdominal distension and greenish-white stools, take Powder of Biota Seed (Biota Semen), mix with warm wine, and administer 1 qian.

Mix Musk (Moschus), Cinnabar (Cinnabaris, 2 fen), and one dried plum (Mume Fructus, pitted) into a fine powder. Mix with a few drops of human milk (referred to as "relative's blood" in traditional context, but practically breast milk here). Decoct Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncis (Uncaria with Hooks) in water and administer to the child. The convulsions will cease immediately.
