For those who have drowned, pouring duck blood into the mouth can save their lives.
Use a cow or an iron wok, lay the drowning person horizontally on it, place a chopstick in the mouth to allow water to drain out. Then rub the teeth with fresh old ginger.
For those who are freezing to death but still have breath, (the aforementioned medicine) should be heated, placed in a bag, and used to moxa/iron the chest and heart area. Replace when cold. If the heart area is not warmed first before applying fire, the conflict between cold and heat will inevitably cause death.
Mylabris (four pieces, requiring complete head and feet), Momordicae Fructus (two pieces), Moschus (two li), Glutinous rice (49 grains, stir-fried).
The above four medicines are all ground into fine powder and taken with boiled water for recovery. If urinary pain occurs after ingestion, take 3 qian of Liu Yi San (Six-to-One Powder) mixed with cool water two or three times to resolve the toxicity of Mylabris, and the pain will cease.
Ginkgo seeds chewed finely and applied topically.
For cases of severe impact/fall that cannot be cured by other means, use Angelica dahurica (Xiangbaizhi) ground into powder, mixed with a strong decoction of Ophiopogonis Radix (Maidong, core removed) and ingested. Within moments, yellow fluid will exude from the injury site. After swelling subsides and skin heals, continue to apply the residue of this medicine as a poultice.
Aristolochiae Radix (Qingmuxiang, i.e., root of Aristolochia), ground with water for topical application. Simultaneously, decoct and drink to induce vomiting, which is effective.
Hematitum (Wumingyi, i.e., lodestone used by lacquerers to absorb moisture when refining tung oil), ground into powder and swallowed to restore life.
Shao Mingsan said: One person often claimed that Hematitum is good at resolving arsenic poisoning. His friend did not believe it and asked for a live test. The person first ingested arsenic, then Hematitum, and indeed remained unharmed.
Consume half a jin (approx. 500g) of maltose syrup; the foreign objects will be expelled through the large intestine.
Live Magnetite (1 qian), Mirabilite (2 qian).
Grind both into powder. Mix the powder with rendered pork fat and honey, then swallow. After nearly one day, the nail will naturally be expelled. This is because Mirabilite cannot transmit medicinal power to attach to the nail without Magnetite, and Magnetite cannot rapidly expel the nail without Mirabilite. Oil provides lubrication, and honey facilitates swallowing. Combining these four elements allows the attached object to stay attached, the expelling agent to expel, and the lubricant to moisten, working synergistically to wrap and protect the expulsion process.
Alternatively, decoct Artemisia argyi leaves in wine and ingest. Or burn the inner membrane of chestnuts and ingest. Or grind tiger bone into powder and ingest. Or hang a dog upside down, collect its saliva, and ingest. Or blow ivory powder into the nasal cavity.
