Coughing and expectorating with cold and heat sensations. Shortness of breath, flushed cheeks. Take five he of child's urine (tong niao), and a large piece of Glycyrrhizae Radica et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle (Gancao) about one cun in length. Break the Gancao into four pieces and soak it in the tong niao. Leave it exposed to the air overnight. Take it all at once in the early morning. Once a day.
Coughing up pus and blood, dull pain in the chest. Use Coicis Semen (Yiyiren) slightly stir-fried and ground into powder. Mix with rice gruel (nuomi yin) for oral administration. Alternatively, cook as porridge or decoct with water. After taking the medicine, the pus and blood will be discharged, and the body will naturally feel at ease.
Squeeze juice from Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride (Juye) and take one zhen. Recovery occurs upon vomiting out pus and blood.
When Fei Yong (Lung Abscess) first begins, if coughing is accompanied by immediate pain in both chests, this is the condition. One should quickly administer this prescription immediately.
Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen) (half jin)
Asparagi Radix (Tiangdong) (four liang)
Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng) (two liang)
Glycyrrhizae Radica et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle (Zhi Gancao) (one liang)
Add ten bowls of water, decoct until two bowls remain. Then add Taraxaci Herba (Pugongying) (five qian) and Lonicerae Japonicae Flos (Jinyinhua) (five qian), and continue decocting until one bowl remains. Take after a full meal. For early-stage cases, it will dissipate; for long-standing cases, it will generate flesh. This is a miraculous prescription.
Scolopendra (Wugong) (one strip, remove head and feet, dry on a tile over fire)
Realgar (Xionghuang) (one qian)
Sulfur (Liuhuang) (one qian)
Grind together into fine powder. In summer, mix with juice of white eggplant (Baiziqie) pounded fresh and apply externally. In winter, use bitumen (Diliqing) pounded into an ointment for application. Apply while lying down on the face, wash off the next morning. Complete recovery in half a month.
Sesamum indicum seed (Heizhima) (peeled)
Nelumbinis Plumula (Lianrou) (keep the plumule, soak in water until soft)
Take every morning.
Caused by deficiency of the Three Yin meridians and accumulation of damp-heat. This acupoint is located anterior to the anus (gudao) and posterior to the genitalia; it is also known as Haidi Acupoint. Initially, it resembles a lotus seed, with slight itching but mostly pain. As time passes, it gradually enlarges like a plum or peach, becoming red, swollen, and painful. After ulceration, mild cases may form fistulas, while severe cases may exhaust qi and blood, leading to chronic consumption diseases (Lao Zhai) from which many do not recover. Use four liang of large Glycyrrhizae Radica et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle (Fen Gancao). Soak thoroughly in running water, then dry over charcoal fire. Repeat soaking and drying three times. Slice. Use three liang of Gancao and three liang of Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui) body. Add three bowls of water, simmer slowly over low heat until a thick paste forms. Remove dregs and continue boiling until concentrated. Each dose is three qian, dissolved in a large cup of unadulterated hot wine, taken on an empty stomach. If not yet formed, it will dissipate; if formed, it will ulcerate; if already ulcerated, it will heal. This is a good medicine for Xuan Yong (Perineal Abscess).
