It is stated that the reason for a woman's infertility lies in the insufficiency of the Chong and Ren vessels, and the deficiency-cold of Kidney Qi. The *Neijing* states that when a girl reaches fourteen years of age, Tian Gui (substances promoting reproductive maturity) arrives, the Ren vessel becomes unobstructed, and the Tai Chong vessel becomes vigorous; with the harmony of Yin and Yang, conception can occur. If the Chong and Ren vessels are insufficient and Kidney Qi is deficient and cold, leading to obstruction of the Baoguo (uterus), infertility results. There are also cases originating from the husband's illness, which require identifying the cause and regulating accordingly.

For treating uterine deficiency-cold in women, failure to conceive, irregular menstruation, and accumulation of cold in blood and Qi: Puxiao Dangbao Decoction Formula.
Puxiao (Mirabilite), Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and stir-fried), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, chopped and stir-fried), Taoren (Persicae Semen, soaked in water, skin and pointed ends removed, twin kernels discarded, stir-fried), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, seedlings and leaves removed), [missing herb name], Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, coarse bark removed, sliced and stir-fried, 1.5 liang), Mengchong (Blatta Orientalis, wings and legs removed).
The above seventeen ingredients are coarsely pounded and sifted. Each dose consists of three qianbi (approx. 9g), decocted with one zhan of water and half a zhan of wine until reduced to eight parts. Strain and take warm before meals.

For treating thirty-six diseases of the lower jiao in women, infertility or sterility: Chengze Pill Formula.
Zelan (Lycopus Herba), Xinyi (Magnoliae Flos, root end removed), Gaoben (Ligustici Wallichii Rhizoma, seedlings and soil removed, each 1 liang), Gezhangtingchang (Euphorbia lathyris seeds, seven pieces, stir-fried), Soshu (Daphne Genkwa Flower), Hezao Ren (Juglandis Semen, quantity missing).
The above six ingredients are pounded, passed through a fine sieve into powder, mixed with refined honey, and formed into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Each dose is fifty pills, taken with warm wine, twice daily.

For treating long-term infertility in women, cold pain in the lower abdomen, and disharmony of Qi: Gan Dihuang Tang Formula.
Shu Dihuang (Prepared Rehmanniae Radix, washed and dried), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and stir-fried, each 2 liang), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, soaked in wine for one day, sliced and dried, 0.5 liang), Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, coarse bark removed), Qianniu (Pharbitidis Semen), [missing herbs].
The above eight ingredients are coarsely pounded and sifted. Each dose is three qianbi, decocted with two zhan of water until reduced to one zhan. Strain and take. Take again after a long interval post-meal. Continue until loose stools are achieved, then follow with the subsequent Yuyuliang Tang.

For treating coldness of the fetal uterus in women, resulting in sterility: Yuyuliang Tang Formula.
Yuyuliang (Haematitum, quenched in vinegar seven times), Baijiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus, remove black ones, slightly stir-fried), Wuzhegu (Sepiae Endoconcha, shell and skin removed, each 1 liang), Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Scapulae, crushed and ground), Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber, soaked in fermented rice water), [missing herb].
The above twelve ingredients are coarsely pounded and sifted. Each dose is three qianbi, decocted with one zhan of water and three slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) until reduced to six parts. Strain and take warm before meals, twice daily.

For treating long-term infertility in women: Baiwei Pill Formula.
Baiwei (Cynanchi Atrati Radix, remove soil and chop), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, chopped and stir-fried), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, roasted, cracked, peel and umbilicus removed), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Gaoben (Ligustici Wallichii Rhizoma, remove seedlings and soil), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Yuyuliang (Haematitum), [missing herb], Baiziren (Platycladi Semen, stir-fried for half a day), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-roasted), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, chopped, soaked in wine overnight, dried), Sangjisheng (Taxilli Herba, honey-roasted and chopped, each 0.5 liang).
The above twenty ingredients are pounded, passed through a fine sieve into powder, mixed with refined honey, and pounded into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take twenty pills with warm wine, increasing to thirty pills if necessary. Take on an empty stomach before meals.

For treating irregular menstruation, obstruction, and sterility in women: Baiwei Renshen Pill Formula.
Baiwei (Cynanchi Atrati Radix, remove soil, 1.5 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Ziwan (Asturi Radix, remove seedlings and soil), Zishen (Radix Periplocae Sepium), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove forked roots), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, sliced, soaked in wine, dried), [missing herb], Lutou (Scirpi Rhizoma), Baijiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus), [missing herb], Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, slightly stir-fried, each 1 liang), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata).
The above seventeen ingredients are pounded, passed through a fine sieve into powder, mixed with refined honey and pounded into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take thirty pills with warm wine before meals, twice daily.

For treating long-term infertility and loss of lineage in women: Duheng Pill Formula.
Duhereng (Herba Dictamni Radicis, harvested on the third day of the third lunar month, roots washed, sun-dried, and chopped), Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber, washed twenty times in water, crushed, stir-fried with Shengjiang), Baiwei (Cynanchi Atrati Radix), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix, chopped and stir-fried), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), [missing herbs].
The above fourteen ingredients are pounded, passed through a fine sieve into powder, mixed with refined honey, and formed into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take twenty pills with warm wine, gradually increasing to thirty pills. Take once in the morning and once at noon.

For treating loss of lineage and infertility in women: Zhongru Pill Formula.
Zhongru (Concha Ostreae, ground for one hour), Baifan (Alumen, roasted until liquid evaporates, each 1 liang), Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini, roasted until dry), Zhi Shiyin (Fluoritum, finely ground), Shujiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, remove eyes), [missing herb], Shitingzhi (Calamina, extremely finely ground).
The above ten ingredients, except for mineral drugs which are ground separately, are pounded, passed through a fine sieve into powder, mixed evenly, combined with refined honey, and pounded into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take twenty pills daily on an empty stomach with warm wine, gradually increasing to thirty pills.

For treating long-term infertility in women: Zelan Pill Formula.
Zelan (Lycopus Herba, remove roots), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, remove white pith and dry), Bailonggu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Scapulae, crushed and ground), Yuyuliang (Haematitum, heated red and quenched in vinegar seven times), Zhi Shiyin (Fluoritum, finely ground), [missing herb], Gaoben (Ligustici Wallichii Rhizoma, remove seedlings and soil), Juanhua (Stemonae Radix), Dongguazi (Trichosanthis Semen), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, remove coarse bark), Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix, dried), Shujiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, remove eyes and closed-mouth ones, stir-fried to release oil), Baiwei (Cynanchi Atrati Radix), Chishizhi (Halloysit Rubrum, ground, each 0.5 liang).
The above twenty-eight ingredients are pounded, passed through a fine sieve into powder, mixed with refined honey, and formed into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take twenty pills with warm wine.

For treating irregular menstruation, accumulation masses, and infertility in women: Dahuang Tang Formula.
Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, chopped and stir-fried, 1 liang), Taoren (Persicae Semen, soaked in water, skin and pointed ends removed, twin kernels discarded, 49 pieces), Mengchong (Blatta Orientalis, wings and legs removed, slightly stir-fried, 30 pieces), Shuizhi (Hirudo, quantity missing).
The above four ingredients are chopped like hemp seeds. Each dose is one qianbi (approx. 3g), decocted with one zhan of wine until reduced to seven parts. Strain and take warm on an empty stomach. Do not use if there are no accumulation masses.
