论述说：小儿因为五脏功能失调，寒邪壅滞，营卫之气闭塞，逆乱于肌肤肌肉之间，于是产生疽肿。其症状表现为肿胀结聚、皮肤僵硬，顶部像牛颈一样隆起，疼痛且坚硬，病位深附于筋骨。等到化脓之后，这种疽疮可以痊愈，但必须使用排脓生肌的药物。如果余毒未清除，伤口收敛过快，则病源会再次发作。或者瘙痒或疼痛，肌肉汁液不断流出，疮口无法愈合。

治疗小儿热毒导致肤色发白的肿胀，或恶核瘰疬、附骨痈疽，关节活动不利，全身遍发的白丹疹瘙痒的五香连翘汤方：
木香、薰陆香（乳香）、沉香（切碎）、鸡舌香、黄芩（去除黑心部分）、麻黄（去除根节，用汤煮并撇去浮沫）、麝香（研细，各一分）、连翘、海藻（洗净去咸味焙干）、射干、升麻、枳实（去瓤麸皮炒，各半两）、大黄（切碎炒制，二两）。
以上十三味药，粗捣筛碎，每次服用二钱匕，加水七分，煎煮至四分，滤去药渣，加入竹沥一合，再煮沸一两分钟。分两次温服，根据患儿年龄大小酌情增减剂量。
治疗小儿痈疽疮疖肿毒的黄耆汤方：
黄耆（切碎）、连翘、升麻、恶实（炒，各半两）、玄参、丹参、露蜂房（炙烤）、枳壳（去瓤麸皮炒）、甘草（炙，各一分）。

治疗小儿痈疽疖毒尚未破溃，或脓液未排出，伴有怕冷和高热的五香丸方：
木香（一分）、沉香（切碎）、苏合香（研细，各三分）、麝香（研细，半分）、犀角（镑片，二两）、大黄（生切碎，一两半）、鸡舌香（研细）、吴蓝叶、栀子仁、熟干地黄（二两）、白芍药（一两）、人参（一两，去芦头）、白茯苓（一两）。
以上十三味药，捣碎过罗成粉末，用炼蜜调和制成丸药，如梧桐子大小，每次服用二十丸，用黄耆汤送服，饭前服用。
又一方：
干虾蟆（一个）。
以上一味药，烧成灰后细细研磨，用猪脂调和敷患处。

败鼓皮（不限多少，烧成灰）。

Discussion states: In children, due to the disharmony of the five Zang organs (Five Viscera), pathogenic cold pathogens stagnate and obstruct, causing Ying (Nutrient) Qi and Wei (Defensive) Qi to close off. This rebellion occurs in the skin and muscles, leading to the formation of deep abscesses (Ju). The presentation involves swelling with induration and stiff skin, resembling a bull's neck, accompanied by pain and hardness, with the pathology deeply attached to the sinews and bones. Once suppuration occurs, the abscess can heal; however, herbs for draining pus and promoting tissue regeneration must be used. If residual toxins are not cleared and the wound closes too rapidly, the source of the disease may recur. Symptoms may include itching or pain, continuous discharge from the muscle tissue, and failure of the wound orifice to heal.
Formula for Loulu Tang (Cistanche Decoction) to treat heat-toxin carbuncles and sores in children, as well as various red and white erysipelas (Dan) and toxic hot furuncles:
Loulu (Cistanches Herba, remove rhizome head), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructum), Baijian (Ampelopsis Radix, crushed), Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried and crushed), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, remove root joints, boil in water and skim foam), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, remove black heart), Zhishi (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, bran-fried until yellow, each 1 fen), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and fried, 1 liang).
The above ten ingredients are coarsely pounded and sifted. Take 2 qianbi per dose, add 1 zhan of water, decoct until 0.5 zhan remains, strain, and divide into two warm doses. Adjust dosage according to the child's age and size.
Formula for Wuxiang Lianqiao Tang (Five-Aromatic Forsythia Decoction) to treat heat-toxin swelling with pale color in children, or malignant nodules, scrofula, osteomyelitis-like abscesses, immobility of joints, and widespread white erysipelas with rash and itching:
Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Xunluxiang (Olibanum, Frankincense), Chenxiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum, crushed), Jishe Xiang (Styrax, Benzoin), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, remove black heart), Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, remove root joints, boil in water and skim foam), Shexiang (Moschus, ground, each 1 fen), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructum), Haizao (Sargassum, wash to remove saltiness and bake), Shegan (Belamcandae Rhizoma), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Zhishi (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, remove pith and bran-fry, each 0.5 liang), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and fried, 2 liang).
The above thirteen ingredients are coarsely pounded and sifted. Take 2 qianbi per dose, add 0.7 zhan of water, decoct until 0.4 zhan remains, strain, add 1 he of Bamboo Sap (Zhuli), and boil for one or two minutes. Divide into two warm doses. Adjust dosage according to the child's age and size.
Formula for Huangqi Tang (Astragalus Decoction) to treat pediatric carbuncles, sores, furuncles, and swelling/toxicity:

Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix, 1 fen), Chenxiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum, crushed), Suhe Xiang (Styrax, ground, each 3 fen), Shexiang (Moschus, ground, 0.5 fen), Xijiao (Rhino Cerios, shaved, 2 liang), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, raw and crushed, 1.5 liang), Jishe Xiang (Styrax, ground), Wulan Ye (Isatidis Folium), Zhizi Ren (Gardeniae Semen, embryo removed), Shu Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata, 2 liang), Baishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 1 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 1 liang, remove rhizome head), Baifuling (Poria, 1 liang).
The above thirteen ingredients are pounded, sieved into powder, and mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 20 pills per dose, administered with Huangqi Tang (Astragalus Decoction) as a vehicle, taken before meals.
