论曰疟母者，病疟不瘥，结为症瘕是也。邪伏于阴，故久而成形，不治其母，虽或时
瘥，已而复发，其本未除故也，治宜以破结削瘕之剂，除其病本。
治疟久不瘥，结为症瘕，名曰疟母。鳖肉煎丸方
生鳖肉（半斤治如食法） 黄芩（去黑心） 柴胡（去苗） 蜣螂（去翅头足炒各半两）
鼠妇（炒去足） 干姜（炮） 大黄（生锉） 海藻洗（去咸汁焙） 葶苈子（纸上炒） 桂
（去粗皮） 牡丹皮 浓朴（去粗皮生姜汁炙锉） 紫菀（切焙） 瞿麦（去梗） 半夏（汤
洗去滑焙） 人参 大戟（锉） 虫（炒） 射干（炮） 阿胶（炙燥） 桃仁（汤浸
去皮尖双仁别研） 石苇（去毛） 赤芍药（各一分） 桑螵蛸（炒一两）
上二十四味。捣罗为细末，取灶下灰三升，酒二升淋灰，取灰汁先煮鳖肉，令烂，绞去
鳖肉，后入诸药末，纳鳖肉汁，更煎成膏，可丸即止，丸如梧桐子大，每服二十丸，未发前
温酒下。
治一切远年疟，结成症瘕。雄黄丸方

上三十二味。除别研外捣罗为细末，合研匀，炼蜜丸如梧桐子大，每服二十丸，白粥饮
下，未发前服。
治疟母。二黄丸方
上以生砒黄豆黄末各一两，以酽醋二升，一处煎成膏，可丸取出，别入丹砂雄黄麝香各
一钱，研细和匀，众手为丸，如绿豆大，每服五丸，未发前，煎生姜汤下。
治疟母。至妙丹方
砒霜（研半两） 寒水石（研一两）
上二味，先用研了砒，在生铁铫内，用寒水石末围之，以瓷碗合定，湿纸封于碗上，烧
候烟出，熏纸黄色即止，取出以纸衬于地上，出火毒须臾，细研为末，入研了丹砂龙脑麝香
各半钱许和匀，汤浸炊饼，丸如梧桐子大，以丹砂作衣，每服一丸，于未发前早晨面北，用
井华水下，忌吃热物一时辰。
治疟母。丹砂丸方
丹砂（研） 绿豆（去皮研粉） 砒霜（研各半两）
上三味。于端午日静室内，面向东南，用乳钵先将绿豆研细，次入砒霜丹砂，研一千遍
，用稀米粥，丸如梧桐子大，阴干，每服一丸，未发前五更时，井华水面北咽下，少顷方可
食。
治疟疾结成症瘕。如圣丸方
巴豆（三粒去壳） 黑豆（四十九粒） 砒霜（研半两）
上三味。将巴豆黑豆，用米醋浸一宿，去皮膜，入乳钵内，顺研一百匝，入砒又逆研一
百匝，丸如小豆大，用丹砂为衣，每服一丸，取嫩桃叶七片，水一盏，煎数沸，倾入盏内，
用醋一二滴打匀，通口令病患面向东方吞下，如无桃叶，以桃枝七寸煎汤代之。
论述说：疟母，是指患疟疾后病情未愈，邪气结聚形成症瘕（腹内结块）的病证。邪气潜伏于阴分，所以日久成形，如果不治疗其根本（疟母），虽然有时症状暂时缓解，但不久又会复发，这是因为病根未除的缘故，治疗应当使用破结消癥的药剂，以去除病本。
治疗疟疾日久不愈，结聚成症瘕，名为疟母。鳖肉煎丸方
生鳖肉（半斤，按食用方法处理） 黄芩（去掉黑心部分） 柴胡（去掉苗头） 蜣螂（去掉翅膀、头部和足，炒制，各半两）
鼠妇（炒制，去掉足） 干姜（炮制） 大黄（生锉碎） 海藻（洗净，去掉咸汁，焙干） 葶苈子（在纸上炒制） 桂枝（去掉粗皮） 牡丹皮 厚朴（去掉粗皮，用生姜汁炙后锉碎） 紫菀（切后焙干） 瞿麦（去掉梗） 半夏（用汤洗去滑腻，焙干） 人参 大戟（锉碎） 䗪虫（炒制） 射干（炮制） 阿胶（炙燥） 桃仁（用汤浸泡，去皮尖，双仁者单独研碎） 石韦（去掉毛） 赤芍药（以上各一分） 桑螵蛸（炒制一两）
以上二十四味药。捣碎过筛成细末，取灶下灰三升，用酒二升淋浇灰上，取得灰汁先煮鳖肉，煮烂后，绞去鳖肉渣，然后加入诸药末，混入鳖肉汁，再煎制成膏，可以丸药时即停止，制成梧桐子大小的丸药，每次服用二十丸，在发作前用温酒送服。
治疗各种陈年疟疾，结成症瘕。雄黄丸方
雄黄（研细） 朱砂（研细） 麝香（研细，各半两） 木香 龟甲（醋炙） 鳖甲（醋炙，去掉裙边） 虎骨（酒炙） 羚羊角（镑成屑） 犀角（镑成屑） 白薇 玄参 当归（切后焙干） 知母（焙干） 防风（去掉叉枝） 麻黄（去掉根节） 龙胆（去掉苗头） 牡蛎（烧至通红） 猪苓（去掉黑皮）
柴胡（去掉苗头） 茯神（去掉木质部） 升麻 槟榔（锉碎） 地骨皮 赤芍药 栀子仁 黄连（去掉须根）
乌梅肉（炒制） 阿魏（研细） 桃仁（用汤浸泡，去皮尖，双仁者炒后研碎） 安息香（研细） 玉竹 龙齿（以上各三分）
以上三十二味药。除了需要单独研细的药物外，其余捣碎过筛成细末，混合研匀，炼蜜为丸，制成梧桐子大小的丸药，每次服用二十丸，用白米粥汤送服，在发作前服用。
治疗疟母。二黄丸方
以上以生砒石、黄豆黄末各一两，用浓醋二升，一起煎制成膏，可以丸药时取出，另外加入丹砂、雄黄、麝香各一钱，研细混合均匀，众人合力做成丸药，如绿豆大小，每次服用五丸，在发作前，煎生姜汤送服。
治疗疟母。至妙丹方
砒霜（研细半两） 寒水石（研细一两）
以上两味药，先用研好的砒霜，放在生铁铫内，用寒水石末围绕它，用瓷碗盖好，湿纸封在碗口上，烧制直到有烟冒出，熏得纸变黄色就停止，取出后垫纸在地上，散去火毒片刻，细研成末，加入研好的丹砂、冰片、麝香各半钱许混合均匀，用水浸过的炊饼做粘合剂，制成梧桐子大小的丸药，以丹砂为衣，每次服用一丸，在发作前早晨面向北方，用井华水（清晨第一次汲出的井水）送服，忌吃热物一个时辰。
治疗疟母。丹砂丸方
丹砂（研细） 绿豆（去皮研粉） 砒霜（研细，各半两）
以上三味药。在端午节当天，在安静的室内，面向东南方向，用乳钵先将绿豆研细，其次加入砒霜、丹砂，研磨一千遍，用稀米粥做粘合剂，制成梧桐子大小的丸药，阴干，每次服用一丸，在发作前五更天时，面向北方咽下井华水，过了一会儿才可以进食。
治疗疟疾结成症瘕。如圣丸方
巴豆（三粒，去掉壳） 黑豆（四十九粒） 砒霜（研细半两）
以上三味药。将巴豆、黑豆，用米醋浸泡一夜，去掉皮膜，放入乳钵内，顺向研磨一百圈，加入砒霜又逆向研磨一百圈，制成小豆大小的丸药，用丹砂为衣，每次服用一丸，取嫩桃叶七片，水一盏，煎煮几沸，倒入盏内，滴入一二滴醋搅匀，让病人面向东方吞下，如果没有桃叶，用七寸长的桃枝煎汤代替。
Discourse states: Nuemo (Malaria Mass) refers to the condition where malaria persists and pathogens accumulate to form Zhengjia (abdominal masses). The pathogen lies hidden in the Yin aspect, thus forming a structure over time. If the root (Nuemo) is not treated, although symptoms may temporarily subside, they will recur shortly thereafter because the fundamental cause remains. Treatment should employ agents that break up accumulations and eliminate masses to remove the disease root.
For treating long-standing malaria that has formed masses, named Nuemo. Bie Rou Jian Wan (Turtle Meat Decoction Pills) Formula:
Raw Turtle Meat (half jin, prepared as food), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, remove black heart), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, remove seedlings), Qianglang (Scarabaeus, remove wings, head, and feet, stir-fry, half liang each), Shufu (Pseudoscorpion, stir-fry, remove feet), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, processed), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, raw and crushed), Haizao (Sargassum, wash, remove salty juice, bake), Tinglizi (Descurainiae Semen, stir-fry on paper), Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, remove rough bark), Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, remove rough bark, process with ginger juice and crush), Ziwan (Asteris Radix, cut and bake), Qumai (Dianthi Herba, remove stems), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, wash with decoction to remove slipperiness, bake), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Daji (Euphorbiae Pekinensis Radix, crush), Chong (Eupolyphaga, stir-fry), Shegan (Belamcandae Rhizoma, process), Ejiao (Asini Corii Colla, dry-roast), Taoren (Persicae Semen, soak in water, remove skin and tips, double-kernel ones grind separately), Shiwei (Pyrosiae Folium, remove hairs), Chi Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra, one fen each), Sangpiaoxiao (Mantidis Oöthecea, stir-fry, one liang).
The above twenty-four ingredients. Pound and sieve into fine powder. Take three sheng of ash from under the stove, pour two sheng of wine over the ash to extract ash juice. First boil the turtle meat in the ash juice until soft, strain out the meat. Then add the herbal powders and the turtle meat juice, further decoct into an ointment. When it can be formed into pills, stop. Make pills the size of wutong seeds. Take twenty pills each time, with warm wine before the onset of symptoms.
Treating all chronic malaria forming masses. Xionghuang Wan (Realgar Pill) Formula:
Xionghuang (Realgar, ground), Dansha (Cinnabar, ground), Shexiang (Moschus, ground, half liang each), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Guijia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum, vinegar-processed), Biejia (Trionychis Carapax, vinegar-processed, remove skirt), Hugu Tou (Tiger Bone, wine-processed), Lingyang Jiao (Saigae Tataricae Cornu, shaved into flakes), Xijiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved into flakes), Baiwei (Cynanchi Atrati Radix), Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, cut and bake), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, bake), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove forks), Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, remove roots and joints), Longdan (Gentianae Radix, remove seedlings), Muli (Ostreae Concha, burn red), Zhuling (Polyporus, remove black skin), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, remove seedlings), Fushen (Poria cum Radice Xylom, remove wood), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Binglang (Arecae Semen, crush), Digupi (Lycii Cortex, Chi Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Zhizi Ren (Gardeniae Fructus, Lianglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, remove stamens), Wumei Rou (Mume Fructus flesh, stir-fry), Awei (Ferulae Resina, ground), Taoren (Persicae Semen, soak in water, remove skin and tips, double-kernel ones stir-fry and grind), Anshixiang (Styrax, ground), Weirui (Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma), Longchi (Dentis Mammutis, three fen each).
The above thirty-two ingredients. Except for those requiring separate grinding, pound and sieve into fine powder, mix evenly. Refine honey to make pills the size of wutong seeds. Take twenty pills each time, with white porridge drink, before the onset of symptoms.
Treating Nuemo. Erhuang Wan (Two Yellows Pill) Formula:
Take Sheng Pi (Arsenic Trioxide, raw) and Huangdouhuang Mo (Powder of Yellow Soybean Mold) each one liang. Boil together with two sheng of strong vinegar until it becomes an ointment. Remove when ready for pill formation. Add Dansha (Cinnabar), Xionghuang (Realgar), and Shexiang (Moschus) each one qian. Grind finely and mix uniformly. Form pills by hand, the size of mung beans. Take five pills each time, with decocted ginger soup before the onset of symptoms.
Treating Nuemo. Zhimiao Dan (Supreme Wonder Pellet) Formula:
Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide, ground, half liang), Hanshuishi (Calcitritum, ground, one liang).
The above two ingredients. First grind the arsenic. Place it in a raw iron pot, surround it with powdered hanshuishi. Cover with a porcelain bowl, seal the top with wet paper. Heat until smoke emerges and turns the paper yellow, then stop. Remove, place on paper on the ground to dissipate fire toxicity for a moment. Grind finely into powder. Add Dansha (Cinnabar), Naozhang (Borneolum Syntheticum), and Shexiang (Moschus) each about half qian, mix uniformly. Use water-soaked steamed bread dough to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Coat with cinnabar. Take one pill each time. In the morning before the onset of symptoms, face north, and swallow with jinghua water (first drawn well water at dawn). Avoid hot foods for one shichen.
Treating Nuemo. Dansha Wan (Cinnabar Pill) Formula:
Dansha (Cinnabar, ground), Lvdou (Vigna radiata, skin removed and ground into powder), Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide, ground, half liang each).
The above three ingredients. On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, in a quiet room, facing southeast. Use a mortar to first grind the mung beans finely. Then add pishuang and dansha. Grind one thousand times. Use thin rice gruel to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Dry in shade. Take one pill each time. Five geng hours before the onset of symptoms, swallow with jinghua water while facing north. Eat only after a short while.
Treating malaria forming masses. Rusheng Wan (Like Sage Pill) Formula:
Badou (Crotonis Fructus, three grains, shell removed), Heidou (Sojae Semen Nigrum, forty-nine grains), Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide, ground, half liang).
The above three ingredients. Soak badou and heidou in rice vinegar overnight. Remove skins and membranes. Place in a mortar. Grind clockwise one hundred turns. Add pishuang and grind counter-clockwise one hundred turns. Form pills the size of small beans. Coat with cinnabar. Take one pill each time. Take seven tender peach leaves, one sheng of water. Boil briefly. Pour into a cup. Add one or two drops of vinegar and mix well. Have the patient face east and swallow. If no peach leaves are available, use seven cun of peach branch decocted in water as a substitute.
