Commentary states: The four limbs are the root of all Yang meridians and the pathways through which Yang Qi circulates. In cholera with vomiting and diarrhea, Yang Qi is suddenly depleted and rebels, resulting in cold extremities and a faint pulse nearly imperceptible. Ancient methods for treating Si Ni (Four Coldness) focused specifically on unblocking the pulse. When Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) Qi circulate freely, and the Qi mechanism ascends and descends normally, the hands and feet naturally harmonize, and rebellion transforms into compliance.
