Yu Yuliang (Hematitum): Sweet in taste, cold in nature, non-toxic. It primarily treats cough with reverse flow of Qi (ke ni), alternating chills and fever accompanied by vexation and fullness, dysentery with red and white discharge, high fever, and alleviates painful accumulation in the lower abdomen. *Yao Xing Lun* states: It serves as the Sovereign herb. Salty in taste. It primarily treats metrorrhagia (beng zhong). Ri Huazi states: It treats pathogenic factors and pain in bone joints, numbness and lack of sensation in the four limbs, and diseases such as hemorrhoids. It also treats leukorrhea in women and postpartum restlessness. Peony (*Mudan Pi*) is its guiding herb. Zhang Zhongjing states: It treats persistent diarrhea due to cold damage, epigastric hardness and fullness, where the pathology is located in the lower jiao; this is treated with Chishizhi Yu Yuliang Tang (Red Halloysite and Hematitum Decoction). Red Halloysite (*Chishizhi*) and Hematitum (*Yu Yuliang*), each one slice, are crushed and boiled in six sheng of water until two sheng remain. The dregs are removed, and the decoction is divided into two doses for administration.

Lei Gong states: Taiyi Yuliang looks like stone, breaks easily when tapped lightly, and can be ground into powder; it resembles layered leaves of realgar, and this herb can tonify Spleen Qi and stabilize Zang-Fu Qi.
Yu Yuliang (Hematitum): Sweet in taste, neutral in nature, non-toxic. It primarily treats metal wounds, fractures, soft tissue injuries, relieves pain, and promotes muscle regeneration. Ri Huazi states: Non-toxic. Current texts suggest it is cold in nature. It reduces swelling and detoxifies carbuncles and warts. Origin: Da Shi Country (Arabian Peninsula). It grows on rocks, resembling black charcoal. Barbarians refine it with oil into a stone-like form; chewing it feels like... *Ben Jing* states: People in Lingnan say there is a stone called Wuming Yi (Baryte), which is extremely rare, and a grass also called Wuming Yi, which locals do not value highly. Could the "stone" mentioned in *Ben Jing* actually refer to this grass? When used, grind it with vinegar and apply topically to the affected area.
Yu Yuliang (Hematitum): Cool in nature, non-toxic. Treats throat obstruction (hou bi), dental caries, mouth ulcers, malignant sores, scabies, and tinea. Grind green crucian carp mixed with Yu Yuliang ash and administer orally to treat intestinal wind bleeding (chang feng xie xue). *Ji Fang* states: For untreatable pediatric malnutrition qi syndrome (gan qi), Shenxiao Dan is effective. Calcined Luofan (Green Vitriol) until red hot, quenched three times in strong vinegar, then mixed with fine date pulp to form pills the size of mung beans. Administer with warm water, three times daily.
Yu Yuliang (Hematitum): Cold in nature, non-toxic. Resolves phlegm, treats thirst, and moistens Lung and Heart.
Yu Yuliang (Hematitum): Detoxifies all herbal poisons, miasma epidemics, and headaches caused by heat and stagnation. Produced in the South Sea, collected by Hu people. The best quality has no spots but contains golden stars; grinding it yields a milky liquid. There is also Doubanshi (Bean-spotted Stone); although it also detoxifies, its efficacy is inferior. There is also Elv (a mineral variety) with visible grain patterns, which turns iron copper-colored when ground; people often use this as a substitute. To verify authenticity, grind with water and apply to a rooster's comb; if the blood turns into liquid water, it is genuine.
