痛，鼻中息肉及绝筋破骨，百节中大风，积聚，癖气，中恶，腹痛，鬼疰，杀精物恶鬼邪
百虫毒，胜五兵，杀诸蛇虺毒。《药性论》云∶金苗也，杀百毒。味辛，有大毒。能治
辟百邪鬼魅，杀虫毒。人佩之鬼神不敢近。萧炳云∶君。日华子云∶微毒。治疥癣，
癫痫，岚障，一切蛇虫大兽咬伤。一云∶治伤寒骨蒸，耳聋，养胎，症瘕积聚，去三
气，疗金疮及缠喉风。解∶藜芦毒、箭毒。

及疗寒热咳逆，炼服主虚损泄精。萧炳云∶臣。日华子云∶壮阳道，治 癖冷气，补
损，风劳气，止嗽上气及下部痔 ，杀腹脏虫，邪魅等。曾青为使。畏∶细辛、飞廉

嗽，暴嗽，劳嗽，天时行病，小腹满不得小便。一云∶辟邪去恶。
【雄黄】
味苦、甘，性平、寒、大温，有毒。主治寒热往来、鼠瘰（颈部淋巴结结核）、恶疮、疽痔、死肌。治疗疥虫引起的皮肤病、脓疱疮、痈肿疼痛、鼻中息肉以及筋断骨折，能祛除全身关节中的大风邪气，消散积聚和癖块之气，解除中恶邪气所致的腹痛，驱除鬼疰（一种传染性极强的疾病），杀灭精怪恶鬼及百虫毒物，抵御兵刃之伤，杀死各种蛇虺的毒液。《药性论》记载：它是金属矿物的幼苗，能杀灭百毒。味辛，有大毒。能治疗辟除百邪鬼魅，杀虫解毒。人佩戴它，鬼神不敢靠近。萧炳说：它是君药。日华子说：微毒。治疗疥癣、癫痫、岚障（岭南地区的瘴气病）、一切蛇虫及大型野兽咬伤。另一种说法是：治疗伤寒骨蒸（结核病的一种症状）、耳聋、安胎、症瘕积聚（腹内结块）、去除三气、治疗金疮（刀箭创伤）及缠喉风（急性喉梗阻）。能解藜芦毒和箭毒。
【石硫黄】
味酸，性温、大热，有毒。主治妇女阴部蚀烂、疽痔恶血、坚固筋骨、去除头秃、治疗心腹积聚、胁下冷癖、咳逆上气、脚冷痛软弱无力及鼻出血、恶疮、下部阴疮、止血、杀疥虫。《药性论》记载：它是君药。有大毒，用黑锡煎汤可以解其毒。能降气，治疗脚弱、腰肾久冷、去除冷风顽痹。生用可治疗寒热咳逆，炼服主治虚损泄精。萧炳说：它是臣药。日华子说：壮阳道，治疗癖冷气、补虚损、风劳气，止咳逆上气及下部痔疮，杀灭腹脏虫及邪魅等。以曾青为使药。畏细辛、飞廉。
【雌黄】
味辛、甘，性平、大寒，有毒。主治恶疮、头秃、痂疥、杀毒虫虱、身体瘙痒、邪气诸毒。腐蚀鼻中息肉、下部阴疮、身上白斑、消散皮肤死肌及恍惚邪气、杀蜂蛇毒。《药性论》记载：它是君药。不溶于汤药。另一种说法是：治疗乌癞疮、杀虫、妇女久冷、血气攻心疼痛。又治疗肺劳咳嗽、缩小便。又治疗各种咳嗽、暴咳、劳嗽、时行病、小腹满胀不得小便。另一种说法是：辟邪去恶。
[Realgar]
Bitter, sweet, neutral, cold, greatly warm, toxic. Primarily treats alternating chills and fever (Hanre), scrofula (Shulou - tuberculous lymphadenitis of the neck), malignant sores, carbuncles and hemorrhoids, and necrotic tissue. Treats skin diseases caused by scabies mites, pustular sores, painful swellings, nasal polyps, as well as severed tendons and broken bones. It can dispel severe wind pathogens in all joints, dissipate accumulations and masses (Jiju, Piqi), resolve evil qi causing abdominal pain, expel Gui Zhu (ghostly transmission - a highly contagious disease), kill spirits, evil ghosts, and venom from hundreds of insects. It withstands weapons, kills the venom of various snakes and vipers. *Yao Xing Lun* states: "It is the sprout of metal minerals, killing hundred poisons." Acrid, greatly toxic. Capable of treating and warding off hundred evils, ghosts, and demons; killing insect toxins. When worn by humans, ghosts and gods dare not approach. Xiao Bing says: It is the Sovereign herb. Ri Hua Zi says: Slightly toxic. Treats tinea and scabies, epilepsy, Lanzhang (miasma diseases in Lingnan region), and all snake, insect, and large beast bites. Another account states: Treats bone-steaming due to cold damage (Guzheng), deafness, nourishes the fetus, treats Zheng Jia Ji Ju (abdominal masses), removes three types of qi, treats metallic wounds (Jinchuang) and strangling throat wind (Chantoufeng). Resolves Lili poison and arrow poison.
[Sulfur]
Sour, warm, greatly hot, toxic. Primarily treats erosion of the female yin, malignant blood from carbuncles and hemorrhoids, strengthens sinews and bones, cures alopecia capitis, treats heart and abdominal accumulations, cold masses in the hypochondrium, cough with rebellious qi, cold pain and weakness in the feet, epistaxis, malignant sores, lower body ulcers, stops bleeding, kills scabies mites. *Yao Xing Lun* states: It is the Sovereign herb. Greatly toxic; its toxicity can be resolved by decocting black tin (Heixi). It can direct qi downward, treat foot weakness, chronic coldness of the waist and kidneys, remove cold wind and stubborn bi-syndrome. Raw use treats chills, fever, cough, and rebellious qi; refined use treats deficiency loss and seminal emission. Xiao Bing says: It is the Minister herb. Ri Hua Zi says: Strengthens the yang pathway, treats cold qi from masses, tonifies deficiency, wind-labor qi, stops cough and rebellious qi, treats lower body hemorrhoids, kills abdominal and visceral parasites, evil charms, etc. Acts as an Assistant with Qingcai (Azurite). Incompatible with Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) and Feilian (Carduus Bawang).
[Orpiment]
Acrid, sweet, neutral, greatly cold, toxic. Primarily treats malignant sores, alopecia capitis, crusty scabies, kills poisonous insects and lice, relieves body itching, evil qi and various toxins. Erodes nasal polyps, lower body ulcers, white patches on the body, dissipates dead skin tissue and delirious evil qi, kills bee and snake venom. *Yao Xing Lun* states: It is the Sovereign herb. Does not dissolve in herbal decoctions. Another account states: Treats wulai sores (black leprosy sores), kills insects, treats chronic coldness in women, pain from blood and qi attacking the heart. Also treats lung labor cough, reduces urination volume. Also treats various coughs, sudden cough, labor cough, seasonal epidemic diseases, abdominal fullness with inability to urinate. Another account states: Ward off evil and remove malignancy.
