Bianque stated: For sudden onset of evil wind, with chest oppression, severe toxicity, and feeling as if dying, urgently moxa the transverse crease below the big toe of the foot. The number of moxa cones (zhuang) should correspond to the patient's age; recovery will be immediate. If tendons are tight and walking is impossible, for tightness of tendons at the medial malleolus, moxa forty zhuang above the medial malleolus; for tightness of tendons at the lateral malleolus, moxa thirty zhuang above the lateral malleolus; recovery will be immediate. If the eyes are fixed upward (eye deviation), moxa twenty zhuang behind each eye. If unable to speak, moxa one hundred zhuang above the third vertebral spinous process. If unable to recognize people, moxa seven zhuang at the end of the floating ribs. If there is upward deviation of the eyes, lockjaw, and cutting pain in the abdomen, moxa fourteen zhuang on the first transverse line below the scrotum; this is also effective for sudden death. For chronic wind, sudden wind causing alternating spasm and flaccidity, various wind diseases suddenly attacking without self-awareness, or abdominal distension and fullness, or hemiplegia, or lockjaw with inability to speak and spontaneous salivation, or closed eyes with deafness, or cold stiff body, or irritability, confusion, and erratic mood, or cyanotic lips with white mouth corners, upward deviation of eyes, and opisthotonos, immediately upon sensing the onset, moxa Shenting (GV24) once with seven zhuang. This acupoint is located directly above Yintang (EX-HN3) at the hairline. Next, moxa Qucha (BL4) twice, seven zhuang each. This acupoint is located one and a half cun laterally from Shenting. Next, moxa Shangguan (ST7) twice, seven zhuang each, also known as Keyuren (ST7). It is located in the depression above the upper border of the zygomatic arch anterior to the ear.
