Yunmu Fen (Mica Powder, 1 jin) Fuling (Poria, 8 liang) Zhongru Fen (Stalactite Powder) Baiziren (Biota Seed) Renshen (Ginseng) Xuduan (Dipsacus Root) Guixin (Cinnamon Twig, each 7 liang) Juhua (Chrysanthemum Flower, 15 liang) Ganyedi Huang (Rehmannia Root, dried, 12 liang)
The above nine ingredients are ground into fine powder. Take 19 jin of fresh Tianmendong (Asparagus Tuber), extract its juice to moisten and mix with the medicine powder, place it in a copper vessel, and steam it over 1 shi 2 dou of Shumi (Millet) at the bottom (The *Taiqing Jing* states 1 jin of millet). After the rice is cooked, take it out, dry it in the sun, and grind it into powder. Take one *fangcunbi* (a square-inch measure) before meals, once a day, in the morning. This medicine is non-toxic. After three days, strength doubles; after five days, blood vessels become full and vigorous; after seven days, the body feels light; after ten days, the complexion becomes rosy and lustrous, and thought becomes clear and intelligent; after fifteen days, walking speed matches that of a galloping horse, and labor is performed without fatigue; after twenty days, ears and eyes become sharp, and strength no longer feels insufficient; after thirty days, one can see light at night (The *Taiqing Jing* states thirty-five days); after seventy days, all white hair falls out, and old teeth are shed. Take another twenty-one *fangcunbi* of the powder, mix and pound it three hundred times with white honey, and form pills the size of a wutong seed. This is the medicine commonly carried and taken by immortals. When entering mountains, swallow seven pills daily to fast and not feel hungry. Since I have taken this prescription, nearly three decades have passed. Initially, my complexion was beautiful and pleasing, but due to doubt, I dared not proceed. After years of inquiry and visiting, many famous individuals had successfully used it. Thus, I regularly took it according to the prescription. As long as one persists without ceasing, the effort will not be in vain. (The *Taiqing Jing* does not contain Renshen but includes 4 liang of Baizhu.)
Washing the face immediately upon waking up when the eyes are not yet open causes eye dryness, blindness, and excessive tearing. In the early morning, always speak good words, do not speak evil, do not hear evil, do not be angry, do not scold or shout, do not sigh, do not chant "Naihe," do not sit with knees bent and arms crossed on them, and do not let hair cover the face; these are all inauspicious. Do not point your feet toward fire, do not curse at the stove. Whenever walking, standing, or sitting, do not turn your back to the sun seeking auspiciousness, and do not sit facing north for long periods pondering; this is inauspicious. When rising to walk, constantly visualize the Kuigang star above your head, so that wherever you go is auspicious. If engaging in battle, visualize the Dipper handle pointing forward toward the enemy for auspiciousness. Do not dress while facing north, as this is inauspicious; do not spit toward the northwest, as this offends the Kuigang spirit and brings misfortune. Do not cough and spit forcefully from a distance, as this may cause lung disease, heavy limbs, back pain, and coughing. Do not urinate or defecate toward the northwest. Do not kill turtles or snakes. Do not stare angrily at the sun or moon, as this may cause blindness. When walking or riding a horse, do not look back. Whenever passing a temple, be cautious and do not enter casually; if you must enter, show reverence, do not look around freely, and do not turn your head to gaze at the temple. If you see dragons or snakes, do not be frightened or strange, nor focus your gaze on them. If you suddenly see ghosts, monsters, or strange phenomena, forcibly suppress yourself and do not find them strange. Also, if you see an exceptionally beautiful woman among the crowd while traveling, do not look closely and fall in love with her; these are likely mountain spirits or demons. Whether in empty mountains, wilderness, or crowded places, the rule is the same. Wherever there are water bodies with Sha Shi (sand lice), do not bathe in the middle, as they harm people. To cross such waters, follow behind donkeys or horses and cross quickly to avoid injury. Where there are Shui Nu (water crossbows), if their shadow hits a person, death ensues. To cross water where Shui Nu exist, strike the water with an object to scatter them, then cross quickly to avoid injury. In mountains with caves, those entering to collect treasures should only do so in the third and ninth months; in other months, the mountain qi is closed and intermingled, and offending it leads to death. Never smell the odor of corpses with an empty nose; white coating appears on the tongue, and the mouth often smells foul. If one must view a corpse, one must drink alcohol beforehand to ward off toxicity. When traveling far in heat, do not wash your face when encountering rivers along the way; raw Wu [text incomplete].
