[Pathogenesis] The essence of the five zang organs and six fu organs all ascends to the eyes. The eyes are the external manifestation of the Liver (Gan). The Liver stores blood; if Qi and Blood are insufficient, it leads to Liver deficiency, making one susceptible to Wind pathogen invasion, resulting in visual blurriness and obscured vision.

[Pathogenesis] "Polypous skin" (Xi Rou Yin Fu) is caused by evil heat residing in the viscera, with Qi rushing upward to the eyes. The heat attacks the blood vessels, accumulates without dispersing, condenses, and generates polyps located between the sclera (white part of the eye) and the eyelids. This condition is called "Polypous Skin."

Qian Jin Yi Fang's Fan Shi San (Alum Powder), primarily for eye nebula and polyps:
Select the highest quality white Alum (Fan Shi). Place a grain-sized amount on the nebula and polyp. This induces tearing. Wipe away with cotton to remove all foul discharge. Do this once daily. As the disease discharges the foul matter, it gradually thins and heals. Use high-quality white alum; avoid dark red or overly bright/clear inferior grades. Exercise caution and follow standard eye care methods.
