病因学说认为，肾开窍于前阴。如果因劳损而伤及肾脏，导致肾虚，无法滋养宗筋（阴茎），因此会出现痿弱不举的症状。诊察其脉象，若脉来轻浮软弱，如同羹汤表面漂浮的油脂，这是阳气虚弱的表现。

药材：钟乳粉（三两，用绢袋盛装）、附子（二两，炮制）、甘草（二两，炙烤）、当归（二两）、石斛（二两）、前胡（二两）、薯蓣（三两）、五味子（三两）、人参（二两）、生姜屑（二两）、牡蛎（二两，熬制）、桂心（一两）、菟丝子（五合）。
以上十五味药切碎，装入绢袋中，用清酒二斗浸泡。春夏季节浸泡三天，秋冬季节浸泡七天。根据体质适量饮用，效果显著。忌食海藻、白菜、猪肉、冷水、生葱、芜荑、生冷食物及粘性食物等。（出自第四卷）
范汪治疗男子虚劳、阳痿不起、无子的方剂。

药材：钟乳粉（三分）、萆薢（三分）、肉苁蓉（三分）、干地黄（六分）、薏苡仁（三分）、菟丝子（四分）。
以上六味药捣碎过筛，用鸡蛋黄和枣膏调和，制成梧桐子大小的丸药。用酒送服十丸，逐渐增加至二十丸，每日两次服用。忌食芜荑。
又方：远志丸，治疗男子痿弱。
药材：续断（二两）、薯蓣（二两）、远志（二两，去心）、蛇床子（二两）、肉苁蓉（二两）。
以上五味药捣碎过筛，用麻雀卵调和，制成小豆大小的丸药。用酒送服七丸至十丸，服用百日可见效，疗效神奇良好。
文仲治疗阴部潮湿瘙痒，以及痿弱的粉散方。
药材：白粉、干姜、牡蛎（各三分，熬制）。
以上三味药捣碎过筛制成散剂。睡前将药粉扑在前阴下部，起床时再扑一次。最好将药粉盛在稀疏的布袋中扑洒，此法非常灵验。
又一方：加麻黄根三两。
又一方：
药材：矾石（熬至汁液尽）、蛇床子、黄连（各三分）。
以上三味药制成散剂，扑粉方法同上。
《经心录》雄鹅散，治疗五劳七伤导致的阳痿，十年阳事不举。这都是因为年少时房事过多损伤阳气所致。出自神女养母得道方。
药材：雄鹅（十分，熬制）、石斛（三分）、巴戟天（二分）、天雄（二分，炮制）、五味子（二分）、蛇床子（二分）、薯蓣（二分）、菟丝子（二分）、牛膝（二分）、远志（二分，去心）、肉苁蓉（五分）。
以上十一味药捣碎过筛制成散剂。用酒送服一方寸匕，也可以制成丸药服用，每日三次。忌食猪肉、冷水。（出自第四卷）
The etiology states that the Kidney opens into the external genitalia. If labor and damage injure the Kidney, causing Kidney deficiency which fails to nourish the genitals (penis), flaccidity and weakness result. Upon pulse diagnosis, if the pulse is fleeting and weak, like fat floating on soup broth, this indicates Yang deficiency.

Chop the above fifteen ingredients, place them in a silk bag, and soak in 2 dou of clear wine. Soak for three days in spring and summer, seven days in autumn and winter. Drink according to one's tolerance; it is effective. Avoid eating seaweed, Chinese cabbage, pork, cold water, raw green onions, Xuyi, cold/raw foods, and sticky foods. (From Volume IV)
Fan Wang’s formula for treating men with deficiency consumption, impotence with inability to erect, and infertility:
Duzhong (Shifen, Eucommiae Cortex, 10 fen), Shechuangzi (Bafen, Cnidii Fructus, 8 fen), Tusizi (Wufen, Cuscutae Semen, 5 fen, soaked in wine), Yuanzhi (Wufen, Polygalae Radix, 5 fen, heart removed), Fuling (Sifen, Poria, 4 fen), Tianxiong (Wufen, Prepared Aconitum Lateralis Radix Preparata, 5 fen), Zexie (Sifen, Alismatis Rhizoma, 4 fen)... Pulverize the above ten ingredients into a powder. Take one fangcun bi (a measure equivalent to a square inch spoonful) with wine, twice daily; it is effective. Avoid pork, cold water, and vinegar-preserved foods. (From Volume VII)
Beiji Congrong Wan (Emergency Cistanche Pill), treats flaccidity and weakness, benefiting essence and qi. Men taking it will fill their exterior; women taking it will tonify their interior. From *Baibing Chai Fang*:
Zhuru Fen (Sanfen, Ground Hematite Powder, 3 fen), Bixie (Sanfen, Smilacis Glabrae Rhizoma, 3 fen), Congrong (Sanfen, Cistanches Herba, 3 fen), Gadihuang (Liu fen, Prepared Rehmanniae Radix, 6 fen), Yiyiren (Sanfen, Coicis Semen, 3 fen), Tusizi (Sifen, Cuscutae Semen, 4 fen).
Pulverize the above six ingredients. Mix with egg yolk and jujube paste to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take ten pills with wine, gradually increasing to twenty pills, twice daily. Avoid Xuyi.
Another formula: Yuanzhi Wan (Polygala Pill), treats male flaccidity and weakness:
Xuduan (Erliang, Dipsaci Radix, 2 liang), Shuyu (Erliang, Dioscoreae Rhizoma, 2 liang), Yuanzhi (Erliang, Polygalae Radix, 2 liang, heart removed), Shechuangzi (Erliang, Cnidii Fructus, 2 liang), Roucongroung (Erliang, Cistanches Herba, 2 liang).
Pulverize the above five ingredients. Mix with sparrow eggs to form pills the size of small beans. Take seven to ten pills with wine. After one hundred days, efficacy will be known. It is divine and excellent.
Wen Zhong’s powder formula for dampness and itching in the genitals, as well as flaccidity and weakness:
Baifen (White Powder), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger), Muli (Each Sanfen, Calcined Oyster Shell, 3 fen each).
Pulverize the above three ingredients into a powder. Apply the powder to the external genitalia before lying down, and again upon rising. It is best to apply by dusting from a sparse cloth bag. This method is highly effective.
Another formula: Add Mahuanggen (Hemp Root) 3 liang.
Another formula:
Fanshi (Alum, calcined until juice is exhausted), Shechuangzi, Huanglian (Each Sanfen, 3 fen each).
Pulverize the above three ingredients into a powder. Apply as described above.
*Xijing Lu* Xionge San (Male Goose Powder), treats impotence caused by the Five Exhaustions and Seven Injuries, where yang function does not return for ten years. This is due to excessive sexual activity in youth damaging yang qi. From the formula of Goddess Nüyang who attained the Dao:
Xionge (Shifen, Male Goose, 10 fen, roasted), Shihu (Sanfen, Dendrobii Caulis, 3 fen), Bajitian (Bafen, Morindae Officinalis Radix, 2 fen), Tianxiong (Bafen, Prepared Aconitum Lateralis Radix Preparata, 2 fen), Wuweizi (Bafen, Schisandrae Fructus, 2 fen), Shechuangzi (Bafen, Cnidii Fructus, 2 fen), Shuyu (Bafen, Dioscoreae Rhizoma, 2 fen), Tusizi (Bafen, Cuscutae Semen, 2 fen), Niuxi (Bafen, Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, 2 fen), Yuanzhi (Bafen, Polygalae Radix, 2 fen, heart removed), Congrong (Wufen, Cistanches Herba, 5 fen).
Pulverize the above eleven ingredients into a powder. Take one fangcun bi with wine, or take as pills, three times daily. Avoid pork and cold water. (From Volume IV)
