If menstruation occurs early, the blood color will be purple; add Huangqin Scutellariae Radix (8 fen). If menstruation is delayed, the blood color will be pale; add Rougui Cortex Cinnamomi (5 fen), Ganjiang Dried Zingiberis Rhizoma (5 fen), and Shuaiyi Folium Artemisiae Argyi Preparatum (5 fen).
For both early and delayed menstruation, add three slices of Shengjiang Fresh Zingiberis Rhizoma per dose, boil with one and a half bowls of water until reduced to eight-tenths. Take on an empty stomach on the day menstruation begins to initiate the effect. Re-boil the dregs and take before going to bed. One dose per day, continue taking until two or three days after menstruation stops; intercourse at this time will lead to pregnancy.

Take four doses during the expected fertile period, and take again in the next cycle to achieve pregnancy.
