This condition occurs within the two "Guiyan" (Ghost Eye) acupoints located above the knee eye. It presents with swelling and pain resembling needle pricks. The etiology is generally attributed to a lack of self-care in youth, excessive indulgence in alcohol and sexual activity leading to constitutional depletion, combined with contraction of wind-dampness pathogens. In the initial stage, treatment involves using the Eight-Method Divine Needle to puncture the Guiyan acupoints, applying tonifying and reducing techniques to regulate Qi. After needle withdrawal, moxibustion (Ai Huo Jiu) with approximately ten moxa cones (Zhuang) should be applied, which can alleviate the pain. Internally, Zhongjiu Wan (Central Nine Pill) should be taken along with medicated wine. The prescription for the medicated wine is as follows:
Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Red Peony Root (Chishao), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Angelica Dahurica Root (Baizhi), Saposhnikovia Divaricata Root (Fangfeng), Achyranthes Bidentata Root (Niuxi), Papaya (Mugua), Coix Seed (Yiren), Notopterygium Root (Qianghuo), Magnolia Bark (Noupu), Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome (Cangzhu), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi), Schizonepeta Spike (Jingjie), Smilax Glabra Rhizome (Tuling), Prepared Rehmannia Root (Shudi), Cimicifuga Rhizome (Shengma), Licorice Root (Gancao), Taxillus Sinesis (Sangjisheng), Nanastema Stem (Shinanteng), Tribulus Fruit (Bajili).
These herbs are coarsely chopped into slices, placed in a cloth bag, and submerged in ten jin (approx. 5 kg) of fine wine in a jar. The jar mouth is sealed with lotus leaves and heated over fire for the duration of three incense sticks. After cooling, it is removed. Drink on an empty stomach daily until finished. The affected area should be wrapped in cotton to avoid wind exposure; keeping it warm is advisable.
This ulcer occurs on the dorsum of the foot, regardless of side. The initial treatment is the same as that for Back Flower Ulcer: take Zhongjiu Wan, perform fumigation and washing, promote tissue regeneration, and flatten the wound edges.
This ulcer occurs in the palm of the hand. The treatment is identical to that for Dinghua Ulcer: take Zhongjiu Wan, perform fumigation, washing, and topical application, promote tissue regeneration, and flatten the wound edges.
This ulcer occurs inside the ear canal. Initially, there is mild itching and swelling, or external swelling with suppuration. A single herb remedy involves dripping Carthamus tinctorius (Red Safflower) water into the ear, or using leech blood, which has also proven effective. Our school's method involves moistening a cotton strip with paste, attaching thread ends, drying it, and inserting it into the ear. Change twice daily. After seven days, the pus and fluid will dry up naturally, leading to recovery.
This ulcer occurs inside both nostrils, presenting with a polypoid mass protruding from the nose, accompanied by constant pain and foul-smelling purulent discharge. This is caused by accumulated heat in the Lung Meridian. Treatment involves internally taking Zhongjiu Wan combined with Jin Gong Wan (Golden Centipede Pill) to clear Lung heat. Externally, apply Huarou Gao (Meat-Dissolving Ointment) to the polyp. When the tissue turns black, make a small incision with a needle, insert medicinal threads three times. After seven days, the polyp will detach naturally. Wash with Fumigation and Washing Decoction, then insufflate Jiawei Tianran San (Modified Natural Powder) into the nasal cavity to promote tissue regeneration. Finally, administer Lung-clearing formulas to eliminate residual toxins.
Qingfei Yin (Lung-Clearing Drink):
Trichosanthis Semen (Guolou Ren, oil removed), Platycodon Root (Jiegeng), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), Rehmannia Root (Shengdi), Asparagus Fern Root and Ophiopogon Tuber (Er Dong), each 0.7 fen; Scutellaria Root (Huangqin), Gardenia Fruit (Zhizi), Forsythia Fruit (Lianqiao), Red Peony Root (Chishao), Peucedanum Root (Qianhu), Pinellia Tuber (Banxia), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Poria (Fuling), Polyporus (Zhuling), Akebia Stem (Mutong), Trichosanthes Root (Huafen), Angelica Dahurica Root (Baizhi), each 0.5 fen. Use Centella Asiatica Herb (Dengxin) as a guide.
Another prescription: Collect Melon Stalk (Tianguadi) on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month and dry it in the shade. Before use, grind one fen into powder, add a small amount of Alum (Baifan), wrap in cotton, and insert into the nostril.
