Sores occurring in the hollow at the back of the neck are named Yanwo Chuang (Swallow's Nest Sore). This condition involves the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Channel and the Du Vessel, arising from damp-heat accumulation. Sores appearing below the lower lip on the chin bone are named Yanghu Chuang (Sheep's Beard Sore). This condition arises from damp-heat accumulation in the Ren Vessel. The lesions are located near the Chengjiang acupoint and the Di Ge area. It is appropriate to apply medicaments for eliminating dampness and clearing heat externally. The specific prescriptions are presented later.
During gestation, if the mother consumes excessive amounts of the "Five Pungents" (garlic, onion, chives, leek, and asafoetida), alcohol, meat, and rich flavors, she may transmit toxic residues to the fetus, resulting in such sores after birth. Treatment should involve internal administration of agents that clear heat, dispel wind, and eliminate toxins. External application of medicaments is also recommended. Strict avoidance of triggering foods (Fa Wu) and maternal breastfeeding must be observed; otherwise, recovery may be difficult.
The nose is the orifice of the Lung. Disease arises when Lung Qi fails to remain clear and pure, allowing Wind pathogen invasion, or due to washing the face with cold water, causing hot blood to coagulate on the face. Treatment requires internal administration of herbs that clear the Lung, dispel wind, and invigorate blood, along with external application of medicaments to resolve the sores. Prescriptions are provided later.
When women develop honeycomb-like, itchy sores on the face, it is called Fen Hua Chuang (Powder Flower Sore). This results from Wind-Heat affecting the Lung, or from contracting Wind during facial hair removal (Jiao Mian), leading to acneiform eruptions caused by damp-heat. Sores appearing on the inner and outer malleoli are called Qun Bian Chuang (Skirt Edge Sore). These are caused by exposure to Wind associated with skirt edges. Chronic cases resistant to treatment are often attributed to unrestrained sexual activity. Prescriptions are provided later.
An abscess occurring in the anal canal is termed Zang Du (Visceral Toxin), characterized by severe pain. Initially, purgative methods (Nei Shu) should be employed to drain internal heat; subsequently, supporting methods (Nei Tuo) should be used to expel pus. After pus drainage and ulceration, sexual abstinence, avoidance of rich flavors, and emotional regulation (avoiding anger) are strictly required. Failure to observe these precautions may lead to fistula formation with toxic leakage, potentially resulting in death. Cases presenting with black discoloration are difficult to treat.
Hemorrhoids manifest in various types and shapes; therefore, twenty-four illustrative diagrams of different presentations are listed below. Treatment should be differentiated based on the severity of the condition.
