Constrictive injuries (Crush injuries) prohibit the application of medicinal plasters. Cinnabar (Zhusha, 朱砂) can be mixed with distilled liquor (Shaojiu, 烧酒) for topical application. Taking Qiongye San (Qiongye Powder) followed by drinking to intoxication will cause swelling to subside and pain to cease spontaneously. If subjected to severe punishment again resulting in ulceration, Daizhang Tang (Daizhang Decoction) should be administered promptly internally; for those with Qi and Blood deficiency, substantial tonification is required, and applying Liuzhen Gao (Liuzhen Plaster) will immediately relieve pain.
[Note] Constrictive injury refers to squeezing or crushing injury. The use of poultices, plasters, and mud applications is prohibited, as it may inevitably lead to swelling and suppuration (formation of pus). In the early stage after injury, Daizhang Dan (Daizhang Pill) should be taken to protect the Heart. Subsequently, Silver Cinnabar (Yinzhu, 银朱) or Cinnabar powder (Zhusha mo, 朱砂末) should be mixed with distilled liquor and applied to the injured area. Another person should then gently peck the patient's soles with the tips of their ten fingers until the patient first feels itching and then pain. Next, one or two persons should gently sweep the patient's instep with a pen tube to assist in promoting blood circulation, until the depressed area of the wound becomes raised and the surrounding swelling reaches a certain degree. At this point, take Qiongye San (Qiongye Powder), drinking continuously until intoxicated. The following day, wipe off the applied Silver Cinnabar and wash the injury with Xizhang Shang Tang (Xizhang Injury Wash Decoction), applying heat twice or three times daily. On the second day, take Qiongye San (Qiongye Powder) again; the swelling will naturally subside and pain will stop. If subjected to severe punishment again causing rupture, apply Qiongye Gao (Qiongye Plaster) externally and take Daizhang Tang (Daizhang Decoction) internally, followed by substantial tonification of Qi and Blood to facilitate healing. When generating flesh, switch to applying Liuzhen Gao (Liuzhen Plaster) for very rapid results.
