Eyebrow twitching, characterized by trembling eyebrows, staring eyes unable to see, unresponsiveness to calls, yet capable of eating and drinking, is a rare syndrome. Use three liang of garlic juice, mixed with wine and taken orally.
Mandibular dislocation (dropped jaw) is caused by Qi deficiency, leading to an inability to constrain the joint mechanism. Instruct the patient to sit upright and straight, support the lower jaw with both hands, insert the thumbs into the mouth on both sides, and release after about half an hour for immediate recovery. Another method: hold one dried plum (Wumei) in the mouth and swallow its juice; the jaw may also reset spontaneously.
Sores arising on the chin initially resemble millet grains or beans, appearing red, hot, slightly itchy, and painful. Upon rupture, they exude yellow fluid, resembling impetigo (Huangshui Chuang). However, the nodules cluster together like gathered ears. This is due to damp-heat in the Spleen and Stomach. It is appropriate to take Qingzhi Pingwei Tang internally and apply Biyu San externally.
Qingzhi Pingwei Tang (Coptis and Gardenia Stabilize the Stomach Decoction)
Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, 2 qian, stir-fried) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 5 fen) Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, 1.2 qian) Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 1.2 qian) Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, 1.5 qian) Shanzhiren (Gardeniae Semen, 1.5 qian)
Add two zhong of water, decoct until eight parts remain. Take at a distance from meals.
Biyu San (Jasper Powder)
Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) powder Hongzaorou (Ziziphi Jujubae Fructus flesh, roasted until carbonized inside and ground into powder)
Mix equal parts of the above, add half the amount of Kunfan (Alumen), grind together into a fine powder. Mix with sesame oil and apply topically.
For any facial skin abrasions or scratches, frequently apply human milk. Scabs will form immediately, and healing occurs on the same day. Alternatively, use fresh ginger juice mixed with a small amount of powder and apply.
Jingké (also known as Mubao, referring to the eyelids that protect the eyes). It is the essence of Blood and serves as the main network of the eye sockets.
Tongshen (commonly called Tongren, the pupil). It belongs to the Kidney and is the essence of Bone. If Kidney Water is deficient and essence fails to consolidate, the pupil becomes dilated and lusterless.
Heizhu (the black wheel around the pupil). It belongs to the Liver and is the essence of Sinews, internally connecting to the Eye System (the meridians entering the brain from the deep inner canthus). If Liver Fire surges upward, both wheels become red and painful.
Baizhu (the white area surrounding the black wheel). It belongs to the Lung and is the essence of Qi. If Lung Fire rises, red veins appear on the sclera.
Mugang (referring to the upper and lower eyelids, also known as Jie). It belongs to the Spleen and is the essence of Muscle. The fine sinews of the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian scatter over the upper eye net; the fine sinews of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian scatter below the eye, forming the lower eye net.
Liangzi (the inner canthus near the nose, also called Da Zi; the outer canthus near the temples, also called Rui Zi). It belongs to the Heart and is the essence of Blood.
The Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian originates at the Rui Zi, and sinews also knot at the inner canthus.
Eyelashes are governed by the Spleen and Stomach.
Tears are governed by the Liver. Liver Wind stirring causes tearing; hot tears indicate Liver Excess, while cold tears indicate Liver Deficiency.
