久疟，都是由于感受暑邪和风寒所致。在热势炽盛的时候，如果发汗、催吐或攻下过度，会导致脏腑空虚，营卫之气受损。
邪气潜伏藏匿，所以病程迁延不愈。因此症状停止后又会复发，一年发作到三年，或者连续几天发作不止，胁下有痞块。治疗时，

Chronic malaria is caused by injury from summer-heat and wind-cold. During the period of intense heat, if sweating, vomiting, or purging are excessive, the zang-fu organs become empty, and Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) Qi are damaged.
