The Heart belongs to Fire in the Five Elements, internally governs Blood, and serves as the residence of Shen (Spirit). When children accumulate pathogenic Heat, causing stagnation and obstruction within the Zang-Fu organs, it leads to disharmony of Qi and Blood, resulting in a vexed and chaotic state of the Heart Spirit.
For treating pediatric cases of Heart organ heat with congestion, manifesting as delirious speech during sleep at night, as well as convulsions of the hands and feet, use Xijiao San (Rhinoceros Horn Powder) Formula.
Ingredients: Xi Jiao (Rhinoceros Horn), Chuan Sheng Ma (Bupleuri Radix Ascendens), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix, remove seedlings; each 3 fen), Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood), Chuan Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, lightly stir-fried), Gou Teng (Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncis), Mai Men Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber, remove heart).
Process the above ingredients by crushing them coarsely and sieving to make a powder. Each dose is one qian. Add one small cup of water, decoct until reduced to five fen, strain off the dregs, and administer warm according to the child's age and size, dividing the dose appropriately.

Process the above ingredients by grinding them finely and sieving to make a powder. For each dose, mix half a qian with Zhu Li (Bambusa Sap). Administer three to four times daily, adjusting the dosage according to the child's age and size.
For treating pediatric cases of Heart heat, manifesting as insomnia, frequent fright, and delirious speech, use Xijiao San (Rhinoceros Horn Powder) Formula.

Process the above ingredients by grinding them finely and sieving to make a powder. Mix in the already-ground ingredients and grind uniformly. For each dose, mix half a qian with warm water. Adjust the dosage temporarily according to the child's age and size.
For treating pediatric cases of Wind-Heat in the Heart organ, manifesting as absent-mindedness, frequent delirious speech at night, and inability to sleep peacefully, use Niuhuang San (Calculus Bovis Powder) Formula.
Ingredients: Niu Huang (Calculus Bovis, half liang, finely ground), Bai Long Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum, one qian, finely ground), Jin Bo (Folium Aurum, fifty sheets, finely ground), Zhu Sha (Cinnabar, two liang, finely ground and washed with water), Hanshui Shi (Halloysitum Rubrum; 3 fen).
Process the above ingredients by grinding them finely and sieving to make a powder. Mix in the already-ground ingredients and grind uniformly. For each dose, mix half a qian with honey-water. Adjust the dosage according to the child's age and size.
For treating pediatric cases of high fever, mental restlessness, and delirious speech during sleep at night, use Longnao San (Borneolum Powder) Formula.
Ingredients: Long Nao (Borneolum, one qian, finely ground), Niu Huang (Calculus Bovis, one qian, finely ground), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, one fen, remove mustache), Xi Jiao (Rhinoceros Horn), Lingyang Jiao (Saigae Tataricae Cornu), Hupo Mo (Succinum Pulvis), Gan Cao (Licorice Root).
Process the above ingredients by grinding them finely and sieving to make a powder. For each dose, mix half a qian with honey-water. Adjust the dosage according to the child's age and size.
For treating pediatric cases of Heart and Lung heat with vexation, yellowish emaciation, dry and brittle hair, frequent fright during sleep, and delirious speech, use Zhusha Wan (Cinnabar Pill) Formula.
Ingredients: Zhu Sha (Cinnabar, three fen, finely ground and washed with water), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix, half liang, remove rhizome), Long Nao (Borneolum, one qian, finely ground), Mayaxiao (Natrii Sulfas), She Xiang (Moschus, one qian), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Gan Cao (Licorice Root).
Process the above ingredients by sifting them into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of mung beans. Take at any time, dissolving five pills in warm water. Adjust the number of pills according to the child's age and size.
Another prescription:
Qianshuang (Plumbi Subcarbonas, half fen), Tiefen (Hydrargyri Oxydum Rubrum, one fen), Niu Huang (Calculus Bovis, half fen).
Grind the above ingredients together finely until uniform. For each dose, mix one zi amount with Zhu Li (Bambusa Sap).

Zhu Sha (Cinnabar, half liang), Niu Huang (Calculus Bovis, one fen).
Grind the above ingredients together until fine like flour. For each dose, mix one zi amount with Xi Jiao juice prepared by grinding Rhinoceros Horn in water.
