The so-called "Gui Mei" (Ghost Charm) disease is caused by the influence of ghostly entities. Patients often exhibit sadness, or their mind becomes chaotic as if intoxicated, speaking wildly and with fear, weeping while facing walls, and frequently suffering from nightmares or sleep paralysis. They may feel connected to spirits or ghosts, experiencing physical distress, alternating chills and fever, abdominal distension, shortness of breath, and an inability to eat. These symptoms are attributed to the influence of "Mei" (demonic charm).
This section addresses conditions where Qi deficiency in the Five Zang and Six Fu organs leads to the dispersion of Hun (Ethereal Soul) and Po (Corporeal Soul), causing instability in the Zang organs. Symptoms include erratic mood swings between joy and sorrow, and terror as if haunted by ghostly objects. These manifestations typically arise from severe fright.
