Pulverize the above into fine powder, mix with refined honey to form a paste. Administer one pill the size of a cock's comb seed per dose, adjust according to the child's age and size, dissolve in rice water, take at any time.
Treats pediatric external contraction of wind-cold, internal injury to spleen and stomach, vomiting and regurgitation, diarrhea, inability to feed, leading gradually to emaciation over time. Generally, spleen deficiency causes vomiting; when both spleen and stomach are deficient, vomiting and diarrhea persist incessantly. This medicine greatly warms and nourishes the spleen and stomach, promoting good appetite. (Quanxie Guanyin San formula)
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, 1 liang), Poria (Fuling, 1 qian 5 fen), Massae Medicamentae Fermentatae (Shenqu, stir-fried, 2 qian), Nelumbinis Semen (Shilianrou, stir-fried, heart removed, 1 fen), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi).
Pulverize the above into fine powder. For each dose, use 1 qian, decoct with one small cup of water, one jujube, and three leaves of Perillae Folium (Huoxiang) until reduced to three-quarters volume, filter dregs, take warm, adjust dosage according to the child's age and size.
Treats wind-cold and pestilence, fever with lethargy, coarse breathing and wheezing, phlegm obstruction with cough, as well as convulsive wind and tremors, gu poison, heatstroke. Suitable for robust children.
Calculus Bovis (Tianzhuhuang, 1 liang), Realgar (Xionghuang, ground and sifted, 2 fen), Cinnabar (Chensha, separately ground), Moschus (Shexiang, separately ground, each half liang), Arisaematis Rhizoma (Tiannanxing, harvested in December).
Pulverize the above into fine powder, suspend in decoction of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) to make pills the size of soap seeds. Administer one pill per dose, dissolve in warm water. For infants under 100 days, divide into three doses. Alternatively, using snow from the twelfth lunar month to decoct Gancao and mix with the medicine is even better.
