(Regarding this formula: In the year Wushen, a soldier in the army committed an offense, was stripped and prepared for execution, but was pardoned. He lost his spirit and became dazed like a fool. After administering one pill, he slept, and upon waking, the illness had vanished. The wife of Zhang Zaiyang, Inspector General of Jiangdong, suffered from loss of heart/mind for several years while fleeing bandits. She received this formula and recovered before finishing one dose. Furthermore, the wife of Huang Yan, Patrol Officer, suffered from mania and syncope for over a year. She was given this formula with Fuzi removed and Tifen (Cinnabaris) added, and recovered before finishing one dose. Tifen (Cinnabaris) resolves phlegm, calms the Heart, and suppresses Liver Pathogens. If there is excessive anger, causing strong Liver Pathogens, Tifen can subdue them. The *Suwen* states: "For Yang Jue (Yang Reversal) with mania and anger, treat with Cinnabaris," which reflects the principle of Metal overcoming Wood.)
