Treats Jiaochang Sha (Intestinal Colic/Spasm), characterized by unbearable pain, with the patient rolling on the ground, rising and falling repeatedly. The intestines are knotted in the abdomen; this indicates severe poisoning, which can lead to death within moments.
Use one liang of salt, mix with hot water, and administer orally to the patient. Once the salty qi reaches the abdomen, the pain will subside immediately.
Treats Fu Shu (Latent Summerheat), characterized by intense internal and external heat, restlessness, and extreme thirst.
Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (half liang), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix) (decored), Renshen (Ginseng Radix) (decalced, each two qian), Gancao (Licorice Radix et Rhizoma) (honey-fried, half qian), Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber) (washed seven times with boiling water).
Combine as one dose. Add two zhong of water, five slices of fresh ginger, fourteen leaves of Qingzhuye (Green Bamboo Leaf), and a pinch of Jingmi (Oryza Sativa Germen). Decoct until one zhong remains. Take at any time.
Treats Fu Shu complicated by cold injury, Huoluan (Cholera-like syndrome) with tetany, cramping pain in the heart and abdomen, and cold limbs.
Xiangru (Moslae Herba) (three qian), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex) (processed with ginger juice), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (each two qian).

Remove from heat, add Xiangru, one zhong of water, and one zhong of wine. Decoct until eight-tenths remain. Strain and store in a porcelain vessel. Cool it thoroughly by immersing the vessel in newly drawn cold water before administration. If convulsions occur due to summerheat stroke, add Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix) two qian. For ordinary summerheat causing dryness and thirst, with mild vomiting and diarrhea, remove Huanglian and add Baibian Dou (Dolichos Lablab Seed) two qian, lightly fried and chopped, then decoct as above. When frying or boiling herbs, avoid copper and iron vessels.
