In Guangling, a peasant woman suffered from diarrhea with excrement turbid like oil. A neighbor's child dipped a paper wick into the excrement and ignited it; it burned just like oil. Physicians were unable to treat her. Mr. Sun Zijiu heard of this and went to examine her. He instructed to purchase ten doses of Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) and four taels of Tiansheng Buxin Dan (Naturally Born Heart-Nourishing Pill), administering the pills with the decoction. After finishing the course, she recovered. When other physicians asked for the rationale, he said: "When people are frightened, their Qi sinks, causing distension and damage to the Large Intestine. This woman must have contracted this illness after being startled." Upon inquiry, it was indeed true that while working hard in the fields, she saw her young child crawling towards fire, panicked to save him, and subsequently fell ill. This condition is not recorded in standard medical formularies.

A woman's breasts suddenly elongated and hung down thinly, resembling intestines drooping over the lower abdomen. The pain was unbearable, and death seemed imminent within moments. This condition is called "Ru Xuan" (Breast Suspension). Use one jin each of Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong) and Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui). Chop half a jin, and decoct strongly in water in a ceramic or stone vessel. Drink frequently without restriction on quantity. Take the remaining half jin, chop into pieces, burn them under the patient's table, and have the patient inhale the smoke. If not cured after using one dose, prepare another. Additionally, paste one castor bean seed on the vertex (Baihui GV20).
Apply Cinnabar (Dansha) to the area. Secretly throw basins or jars to simulate the sound of falling objects to startle the patient, which will cause the breasts to retract spontaneously. (From *Jiyan Fang*)
A person who is usually healthy may suddenly appear dead, motionless, with eyes closed and jaw clenched, or slightly aware but dizzy and sweating profusely. Due to insufficient blood, Yang Qi rises alone and becomes blocked, so the body appears lifeless. As Qi moves past and Blood lags behind, Yin and Yang reconnect, and thus the person regains consciousness after some time. Women are particularly suitable for taking Baiwei Tang (White Peony Root Decoction - Note: Baiwei is Trichosanthes Kirilowii Root or similar depending on context, here strictly Baiwei). Use one liang each of Baiwei (Radix Cistanches? No, Baiwei is Radix Trichosanthis or Glehniae, typically Glehniae Radix in modern WHO, but historically distinct. Here kept as Baiwei) and Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), half a liang of Renshen (Ginseng Radix), and 1.5 qian of Gancao (Licorice Radix). Each dose is five qian. Decoct two cups of water to one cup, and take warm. (From *Ben Shi Fang*)
For those appearing dead without obvious cause, insert scallion white (Congbai) into the anus and both nostrils. If Qi flows freely or the patient sneezes, they will revive. (From *Chen Shi Jingyan Fang*)
