The skin is red, showing only red meridians, which indicates that the fetus was not fully developed at conception. Sprinkle early white rice flour on the affected area, and the skin will naturally regenerate. (From *Shengji Fang*)
Lay tender willow leaves on the bed for the infant to lie upon; once the rash fully emerges, the patient will recover. (From *Li Lou Qi Fang*)
Suddenly illuminate the affected area with fire. If the infant feels pain and bites the edge of the thumbnail, spitting onto the face can save them. Alternatively, crush fresh garlic chives (*Allium tuberosum*), extract the juice, and blow it into the nostrils. In winter, use the root of the garlic chive. (From *Zhou Hou Fang*)
Some patients fall ill first, while others die suddenly during ordinary sleep; these are all cases of Zhong E (sudden collapse due to evil qi). Urgently take the yellow center of a scallion (*Allium fistulosum*) and pierce it into the nostril. For males, use the left side; for females, the right. Insert seven to eight cun deep. When blood flows from the nose and eyes, the patient will regain consciousness.
Another prescription:
Pour juice from wild leek/scallion root (*Xie*, *Allium macrostemon*) into the nostril, and the patient will regain consciousness.
Another prescription:
Pierce a scallion five cun into the ear. If blood flows from the nose, the patient will survive. If no blood flows, survival is impossible. This is a secret prescription passed down from Bian Que. (From *Cui Shi Zuan Yao*)
For pain, use one liang of Honeysuckle Flower (*Jinyinhua*, *Lonicerae Japonicae Flos*), decoct in water, and drink. (From *Li Lou Guai Zheng Qi Fang*)
If there is a glow on the person's head or face, and others feel heat like fire when approaching with their hand, this is caused by insect poison (Gu poison). Take half a liang of garlic juice mixed with wine and ingest it. The patient should vomit something resembling a snake, after which they will stabilize. (From *Wei Shi De Xiao Fang*)
Historical records from the Southern Dynasties state that Li Daonian had been ill for five years. Chancellor Chu Cheng diagnosed him, saying, "Neither cold nor hot; it is likely due to excessive consumption of boiled eggs." He prescribed one sheng of garlic to be cooked and eaten. The patient vomited an object wrapped in saliva. Upon inspection, it was a chick, complete with wings and feet. Cheng said, "It is not yet finished." Continue inducing vomiting until twelve chicks were expelled, after which the patient recovered. Later...
Also known as Zhong Xi; also known as Zhong Shi; also known as Mu Bing. It resembles infection by the 'She Gong' (archer bug) but lacks a physical entity. Initially, there is aversion to cold, slight headache and eye pain, symptoms are mild upon waking in the morning and worsen in the evening, with cold extremities. After three days, insects develop within the body; the patient cannot eat, experiences itching without pain. After six or seven days, the insects consume the five zang organs, leading to uncontrollable diarrhea. Boil three sheng of small garlic (*Suan*, *Allium chinense*) until slightly warm (if too hot, efficacy is lost) and bathe the body. If red spots appear on the body, do not treat it as other diseases. (From *Zhou Hou Fang*)
If sucking Bai Fan (Alumen) tastes sweet, and chewing Black Bean does not taste fishy, this indicates Gu poison (insect/parasite poisoning). Decoct the bark of Suan Shi Hua Gen (*Ophiopogon japonicus* root/bark) into a thick liquid and ingest it. Living worms will be vomited out immediately, and recovery is guaranteed.
