两尺脉象微弱而兼数，两寸脉浮大，两关脉滑；身体无发热感但脉象洪大，这是妇女妊娠的脉象特征。
左手脉滑大而疾速为怀男胎，右手脉滑大而疾速为怀女胎；再参考乳房结节的出现先后，右侧先起为女胎，左侧先起为男胎，确信无误。
双胎的脉法如何判断？两手脉象都洪大，断言不会错误；若想辨别是男胎还是女胎，详细情况可见叔和（王叔和）的歌诀。
脉象沉细且伴有腹部腰部疼痛，胎气伏匿多因寒冷如冰；再看舌色青紫且有纹路显现，胎死腹中何须问鬼神。
脉象杂乱急促如风雨之声，忽而去掉片刻后又重新出现；这是夜叉（指凶险怪异的病证）人不认识，实时诊断不要迟疑猜测。
初月胎儿形状像珍珠露水，尚未进入子宫在昆户（阴道口/子门）；犹如拿着蜡烛在风中，风急此时难以庇护。

If the left hand pulse is slippery, large, and rapid, it indicates a male fetus; if the right hand pulse is slippery, large, and rapid, it indicates a female fetus; further consulting which breast nodule appears first, if the right appears first it is a female, and if the left appears first it is a male, with certainty without error.
How to ask about the pulse method for twins? If both hands' pulses are surging, the judgment will not be false; to know whether it is a male or female fetus, see detailed descriptions in Shuhe's (Wang Shuhe) verses.
When the pulse comes sinking and fine accompanied by abdominal and lower back pain, the fetus is hidden due to cold like ice; looking again at the tongue color being bluish with visible veins, why ask ghosts and gods when the fetus has died in the womb?
The pulse comes chaotic and hurried like wind and rain, disappearing for a moment then returning; this is what laypeople do not recognize as a dire condition, diagnose immediately without hesitation or guessing.
