A person who is usually healthy suddenly appears like a dead person, motionless, silent, unaware of surroundings, eyes closed and unable to open, jaw clenched and unable to speak. Or slightly aware but averse to human voices, only feeling dizzy and confused, waking up after some time. This is due to excessive sweating leading to blood deficiency, with qi merging into blood, yang rising alone without descending, causing qi stagnation and blockage, thus the body seems dead. When qi passes and blood returns, yin and yang reconnect, hence waking up after some time. This symptom is called Yumao (Depression and Dizziness), also known as Xuejue (Blood Syncope). It is common in women, and Baiwei Tang (Veronicastrum Decoction) and Cang Gong San (Cang Gong Powder) are suitable.
