Also known as Ranshe Dan San (Cobra Gallbladder Powder), this formula treats genital erosion caused by *gan* parasites.
Ranshe Dan (True Cobra Gallbladder), Qingmuxiang (Indigofera Root, powdered), Shiliuhuang (Stibnite), Xiongjing (Realgar), Muxiang (Musk) (each 4 fen; distribute according to need for use. Musk repels snake venom. If mixed beforehand, the cobra gallbladder loses its potency. Old methods used toads from the fifth day of the fifth lunar month).
The above five herbs are taken in equal parts, ground into powder, and further finely pulverized. For patients, take an amount equivalent to three chess pieces, mix with well water (*Jinghua Shui*), and administer twice daily. After ingestion, ensure the patient has defecated first, then fumigate the lower part using peach branches from the following method. Subsequently, place an amount of medicine equivalent to a chess piece into a bamboo tube and blow it into the lower orifice, also twice daily; reduce dosage for the elderly. The fumigation method is performed once daily and does not need repetition; it is effective.
Another formula treats *gan* parasites eroding the lower part and the five zang organs.
Take three or seven branches from the southeast direction of a peach tree, gently beat the heads to loosen them, and wrap them with cotton. Then, grind Stibnite into powder. Roll the cotton-wrapped peach branch in the powder to coat it slightly thickly. Cut a short bamboo tube, insert it into the lower orifice first, then ignite the drug-coated peach branch and fumigate the area.
Formula for severe genital erosion.
Toad, Rabbit feces.
Grind both into fine powder and apply to the sores; this is effective.
*Gujin Luyan* treats female genital erosion where the tissue is ulcerated and injured, with dripping pus and foul odor. Yelangya Tang (Wild Wolf's Tooth Decoction).
Yelangya (3 liang).
Cut the herbs into small pieces, decoct with four sheng of water until reduced to half a sheng, remove the dregs, add Kujiu (Bitter Vinegar) the size of a chicken egg yolk, and dissolve it with one cup of boiling water. At night, adjust for appropriate temperature. Wrap the head of a chopstick with cotton to the size of a silkworm cocoon, dip it in the decoction, and drip it into the sore. Do this four or five times daily until healed.
Discussion: Any condition where a woman's lactation is either patent or obstructed is caused by deficiency of Qi and Blood and irregularity of the meridians. Do not let milk drop to the ground, lest insects and ants consume it, causing the milk to cease. If milk is abundant and overflowing, it is best to splash it on the eastern wall; some women necessarily have milk after childbirth. If the breasts are distended but there is no milk postpartum, this is due to Wind-Heat in young women experiencing childbirth and lactation for the first time! Medicines that clear and promote flow must be taken to allow milk to pass. If a woman has had multiple births but produces no milk, it is due to the loss of Jin-Ye (Body Fluids). Medicines that nourish and promote overflow must be taken to stimulate secretion. If there is milk but not much, medicines that unblock the meridians must be taken to stimulate flow, preferably guided by soup broths. Generally, a woman's milk originates from the Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) and connects with the Stomach Meridian. Women who have had multiple births but still produce abundant milk do so because their Qi and Blood remain robust. Broadly speaking, if a woman has chronic diseases affecting the Chong and Ren Mai (Conception Vessel), her milk will be scant and yellowish, and her offspring will be weak and prone to illness.
*Sanyin Fang* discusses: There are two types of lactation obstruction in postpartum women: one where Qi and Blood are excessive and congested, preventing flow; the other where Blood is deficient and Qi is weak, causing sluggish non-flow. Deficiency should be tonified; excess should be drained. For excess patterns, Tongcao (Tetrapanax Pith), Loulu (Euphorbia Humifusa), and Tuguagen (Polygonatum Kingianum Root) should be used; for deficiency patterns, Calcined Zhuru (Hematite), Pig trotters, and Crucian carp should be used. This overview is evident.
