人将痈毒，半载前常口燥思饮水，食过即饥，宜先服净银花膏解之。

Sweet, bitter, slightly cold. Enters the Jueyin meridians of the hand and foot. Calms liver wind, clears heart heat, dispels liver wind without causing dryness. For children suffering from *ke wu* (sudden fright/convulsions due to external shock) and convulsions, and for adults with vertigo and dizziness, it can unblock the communication between the Pericardium and Liver Wood. When wind is still and fire subsides, various symptoms will naturally disappear. It can be used as a guiding herb for diseases caused by ministerial fire. Combined with Niter (Xiaoshi) and Honey-fried Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao), it treats fright-heat. Combined with Licorice Root (Gancao), it treats fright epilepsy. Paired with Purple Gromwell Root (Zicao), it promotes the eruption of macules and papules.
Using Hook alone has strong efficacy, but prolonged decoction weakens its power.
Eucommia Bark (Duzhong) and Tree Peony Root Bark (Mudanpi) serve as its guiding herbs. It is incompatible with Fritillaria Bulb (Beimu) and Acorus Rhizome (Changpu). It is adverse to Iron Filings (Tieluo). It kills Yinnie poison.
Bitter, warm. Enters the Qi level of the Foot Jueyin Meridian. Strengthens sinews and bones, benefits joints, treats wind-heat carbuncles and swelling. Paired with Belamcanda Rhizome (Shegan) and Gardenia Fruit (Shanzhi), it treats toxic gas attacking the throat. Paired with Ginseng Root (Renshen), Poria (Fuling), and Dragon Bone (Longgu), it treats severe leukorrhea. (Kidney deficiency allows Earth pathogen to interfere, termed "Earth Hyperactivity," similar to how in winter earth is firm and water clear, while in summer earth is dry and water turbid. By ensuring Water and Fire interact properly, the source becomes clean and the flow naturally clears.)
It grows on rocks or walls. Leaves are like tea spoons, with pointed or round varieties; their functions are identical. Wash clean, soak in Licorice Root decoction, sun-dry before use.
Vines growing by clinging to trees should not be used.

Sweet, sour, cold. Enters the Blood level of the Hand Taiyang and Foot Yangming Meridians. Promotes lactation, reduces swelling, secures essence, stops bleeding. Combined with Small Cardamom Seed (Xiaohuixiang), it treats scrotal ulceration and cysts. Paired with Poria (Fuling) and Polyporus (Zhuling), it treats rectal prolapse. Paired with Palm Fiber (Zongpi), Chinese Plum (Wumei), and Licorice Root (Fencao), it treats alcohol-induced dysentery. Boiled with pig trotters and consumed, it promotes milk flow.
Scrape off hairs, grind finely, take warm with yellow wine, treats carbuncles and sores. (Use 49 units.)
For invigorating blood, use raw. For stopping bleeding, use processed.
Leaves: Crush to extract juice, mix with honey, drink several sheng, treats back carbuncle; apply residue topically, must heal.
Vines: Crush to extract juice, apply to vitiligo, ulcers, malignant sores, scabies, and tinea.

Sweet, neutral, slightly cold. Enters the Foot Yangming and Foot Taiyin Meridians. Disperses wind-fire, removes qi distension, resolves heat-dysentery, reduces swelling and toxicity. Combined with Scutellaria Root (Huangqin), Angelica Sinensis Root (Danggui), and Licorice Root (Gancao), it expels pus and treats carbuncles. Combined with Licorice Root (Fencao), it resolves heat-toxin dysentery. Ground into powder, mixed with sugar and taken regularly, it attenuates smallpox/toxins. Mashed and mixed with wine, applied topically to treat sore toxins. Decocted to obtain thick liquid, mixed with warm wine and taken orally, it treats five types of Corpse Transmission (*Shi Zhu*). (Flying Corpse wanders skin, piercing organs. Hiding Corpse attaches to bone and flesh, attacking blood vessels. Wind Corpse moves wildly in extremities, unaware of pain location. Sinking Corpse knots in organs, rushing to heart and flanks. Corpse Injection causes heaviness of whole body, mental confusion.)
Vines and leaves are all usable, flowers are especially good. Decocted with wine, or crushed to juice and mixed with wine, both are effective.
When a person is about to suffer from carbuncle toxin, they often experience dry mouth craving water, and hunger shortly after eating. It is advisable to first administer Pure Honeysuckle Flower Paste to resolve it.
