Take one to two jin of fresh Scallion Bulb (Cong Bai, 葱白), remove leaves and roots, retaining the middle section of about four cun. Tie with rope, divide into two bundles, steam in a pot until hot, ensuring no water contact. Remove and apply to the patient's umbilicus. Place the second bundle in the pot to heat; replace the bundle on the abdomen when it cools. Repeat several times. If the patient's nasal breath carries a slight scent of scallion, they will awaken. For all acute wind-stroke and Cold-Damp Collapse conditions, nothing surpasses this. If scallions are unavailable, garlic may be substituted using the same method, which is also effective. Alternatively, crush fresh Ginger Rhizome (Shengjiang, 生姜), mix with four liang of salt, stir-fry until hot, wrap in cloth, and apply as a compress. Prepare two packs and rotate them.
