Select whole grains of white glutinous rice, two to three *dou* (a traditional unit of volume). On the eighth day of the second lunar month, or on days corresponding to the Heavenly Stems Ren (壬) and Gui (癸), and Earthly Branches Hai (亥) and Zi (Zi), boil long-flowing water (natural flowing water) in a pot. Gradually add the rice.
Once a day. For families that have only daughters but no sons, take this rice with light ginger soup.
