[Fu Bao] Treats Xue Feng Lao (Blood Wind Consumption). "Xue Feng Lao" refers to a condition where the blood vessels are empty and loose. After contracting wind pathogenic factors, symptoms such as alternating chills and fever, night sweats, and restlessness occur, constituting consumption.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata), Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen), Bie Jia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum [roasted with child's urine]), Ling Yang Jiao (Capricornis Cornu), Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix), Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Herba) [2.5g], Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix).
Chen Laizhang states: Wind within the blood is dispersed by Jing Jie and Fang Feng. Exuberance of Liver Wood generating wind is pacified by Ling Yang Jiao and Chai Hu. Fever due to Yin deficiency is nourished by Di Huang and Bie Jia, along with Zao Ren.
[Hezi Formula] Treats Chi Dai and Bai Dai (Red and White Vaginal Discharge). "Dai Xia" originates from damage by wind-cold, damp-heat, or other pathogens entering the uterus (Baogong), or affecting meridians and flowing into organs. If Yin is deficient and Yang is exhausted, Ying Qi fails to ascend, and Wei Qi sinks, stagnating in the lower Jiao and extraordinary vessels. It is named after the Dai Mai (Girdle Vessel), hence "Dai". Red discharge belongs to Blood, white discharge belongs to Qi; its consistency resembles mucus, flowing continuously downward. The term "Dai" also describes the pathological form. Causes include damp-heat stagnating in the lower Jiao, excessive dampness due to Liver-Kidney Yin excess, turbid fluid flowing down due to fright causing Liver Wood overacting on Spleen Earth, endless thoughts leading to "Bai Yin", or damp-heat from other meridians stagnating below the lower abdomen. Although etiologies differ, all result from deficiency and damage of Qi and Blood, with chronic stagnation of Ying and Wei Qi.
Chu Pi (Cortex Phellodendri Chinensis) [75g], Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) [15g], Liang Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma [charred]), Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex [charred]) [9g]. Form pills with congee, take with rice water.
Chen Laizhang states: Chu Pi is bitter to dry dampness, cold to overcome heat, and astringent to secure the lower body. Therefore, for red and white discharge caused by damp-heat, it serves as the sovereign herb. (Ancient formulas include Cang Zhu and Huang Ba...)
[Liang Fang] Treats red and white vaginal discharge with uncontrollable slipping and leakage. "Liang Fang" states: Dai Xia results from damage by wind-cold-damp-heat. Damage to the Liver Meridian presents as green like mud; damage to the Heart Meridian presents as red like saliva; damage to the Lung Meridian presents as white like mucus; damage to the Spleen Meridian presents as yellow like rotten melon; damage to the Kidney Meridian presents as black like blood.
Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) [30g], Hai Piao Xiao (Sepiae Endoconcha) [60g], Tai Fa (Capilli Humani) [15g]. Mix with wine, take 6g.
Bai Zhi is acrid and warm, drying dampness and dispelling wind; Hai Piao Xiao (Octopus Bone) is salty and warm, astringing dampness and harmonizing blood; hair is the surplus of blood, nourishing Yin and resolving stasis, and when charred, it stops bleeding.
