眼部疾病起初症状浅表轻微，若长期不加以谋划治疗，转变为内障的情况，并非只有一种原因。《龙木论》中关于内障的论述，都有其发展的渐进过程。大概是从一只眼睛先患病，随后牵连另一只眼睛共同受损。这是由于肝肾之气虚弱，风邪热毒上攻眼目，导致气血衰微，日久便造成危害。但此时并不疼痛，长久以来没有眼屎眼泪，视物如同轻烟，或如薄雾，或看见垂下的丝状物，或看见苍蝇翅膀般的影子，或看见蚊子飞舞。起初似乎不足为虑，等到形成这种障蔽时，却缓慢而不知反省警惕。现在叙述将变为内障的情况，大概是“图难于易”（在困难尚未形成时就着手解决）的意思。
《龙木论》说，五风变生内障，此眼初患之时，头晕且偏侧头痛。这也是脏腑虚劳所致，以肝风为本因。或者因为一只眼睛先患病，或者因为呕吐导致双眼昏暗，毒风侵入眼中，兼有脑热相互侵袭，致使眼目失明。初觉不适时就必须急用药物，适宜服用除风汤、通明丸、补肾丸，立即见效。
歌诀说：乌珠青风及黑黄，可叹宿世有灾殃。后有脑脂流结白，真如肉色又如霜。医人不识将针拨，翳障不明却自伤。

Zhi Zi Ren (Gardenia Seed Kernel)
Zhu Sha Jian (Cinnabar Decoction) treats stubborn nebulae and red vessels caused by external eye disorders.
Ming Zhu Sha (Refined Cinnabar, finely ground and processed by water flotation), Peng Sha (Borax), Rui Ren (Buckthorn Fruit Kernel, inner and outer hearts removed), Hai Piao Xiao (Cuttlefish Bone, shell removed), Nao Zi (Camphor). Grind the above ingredients into an extremely fine powder, like flour. Add a small amount of She Xiang (Musk) and grind together uniformly. Use as a dry powder for instillation into the eyes. If the white nebula is thick and severe, add a small amount of Ma Ya Xiao (Mirabilite) and grind together.

Eye diseases begin with superficial and mild symptoms. If not planned for treatment over a long period, they transform into internal cataracts for various reasons. The *Long Mu Lun* discusses internal cataracts, noting their gradual progression. Generally, it starts in one eye and then affects the other, causing mutual damage. This is due to deficiency of Qi in the Liver and Kidney, with Wind pathogenic factors and Heat toxins attacking the eyes from above, leading to decline in Qi and Blood. Over time, this causes harm. However, there is no pain or itching, and for a long time, there are no eye discharges or tears. Vision appears like light smoke, or like thin fog, or seeing hanging threads, or seeing shadows like fly wings, or seeing mosquitoes flying. Initially, it may seem negligible, but once such obstructions form, one becomes slow to realize and reflect. Here, we describe cases about to become internal cataracts, embodying the principle of "attending to difficulties while they are easy" (addressing problems before they escalate).
The *Long Mu Lun* states that Five Winds transforming into internal cataracts: at the initial onset of this eye disease, there is dizziness and unilateral headache. This is also due to deficiency and exhaustion of the Zang-Fu organs, with Liver Wind as the root cause. It may be because one eye was affected first, or due to vomiting causing bilateral dimness, with toxic Wind entering the eyes, combined with Heat in the brain invading mutually, resulting in blindness of the eyes. Upon initial discomfort, urgent medication is required. It is suitable to take Chu Feng Tang (Wind-Expelling Decoction), Tong Ming Wan (Clear-Bright Pill), and Bu Shen Wan (Kidney-Nourishing Pill) for immediate effect.
Song says: Wu Zhu (Black Pupil), Qing Feng (Green Wind), and Hei Huang (Black Yellow); Alas, calamities from past lives. Later, brain fat flows and结s white, truly like flesh color or like frost. Physicians do not recognize it and use needle extraction; unclear nebulae lead to self-harm.
Lei Tou Feng (Thunder Head Wind) transforming into internal cataracts: at the initial onset of this eye disease, the head and face are often subjected to Heat toxins. Wind rushing causes dizziness, resembling a febrile disease. Commonly known as Lei Tou Feng. Or accompanied by vomiting and nausea. After many years, it rushes into the eyes, causing blindness. Or starting in one eye, the pupil size varies不定 (uncertain), later affecting both mutually. The vision ahead is dim and dark, unable to distinguish the Three Lights (sunlight, moonlight, lamplight). Upon initial suspicion of illness, it is suitable to take Xie Gan Tang (Liver-Draining Decoction) and Ci Shi Wan (Magnetite Pill) for immediate effect.
Song says: Commonly called Lei Tou Re Du Feng (Thunder Head Heat-Toxic Wind), after many years it rushes into the eyes. Xie Fei Yin (Lung-Draining Infusion) treats Liver deficiency Sparrow Eye (Night Blindness), fearing transformation into internal cataracts.
Fang Feng (Saposhnikovia Root, forked parts removed), Huang Qin (Scutellaria Root, black heart removed), Jie Geng (Platycodon Root, cut and stir-fried), Da Huang (Rhubarb Root and Rhizome, cut and stir-fried), Shao Yao (Peony Root) (each 1 liang). Coarsely grind and sieve. Take 3 qian per dose, with 1.5 sheng of water, decoct to 1 sheng. Add Ban qian of Mang Xiao (Mirabilite). Strain and take warm after meals and before sleep.
