In the disease of seasonal pathogens (Shi Qi Bing), on the third day, the Shaoyang channel (Lesser Yang channel) is affected. The Shaoyang channel circulates along the hypochondrium and ascends to the neck and ears. Therefore, after three days of illness, symptoms such as heat in the chest and hypochondrium and deafness occur.
At this stage, the meridians of the Three Yang channels begin to transmit the pathogen, but it has not yet entered the Zang organs. Thus, the disease can be cured by inducing sweating (Han Fa).
