Edema of the face, eyes, and four limbs caused by Lung Qi. The symptoms manifest as cough, chest and abdominal distension, resembling water qi disease. This is because the Lung governs Qi; Qi belongs to Yang, and the nature of Yang is light, clear, and void. If constrained by Cold pathogen, the Cold attacks outward, dispersing into the skin, causing Qi rebellion and edema. *Neijing* discusses that prolonged coughing not stopping will transmit to the Sanjiao (Triple Burner). The presentation of Sanjiao cough includes cough accompanied by abdominal fullness and loss of appetite. These are all due to Cold gathering in the Stomach and affecting the Lung, causing phlegm-fluid retention, excessive sputum and saliva, thereby leading to facial edema and Qi rebellion.
